Canned Banners

Canned Banners is actually giving us Shopify folks a price break, and $30 for one banner is a fair price.

However, the flash banners do not have the embedding for clickthroughs for proper tracking, and the free included jpgs (a good idea to have in your campaign in case someone is not using flash) were incomplete (just white spaces, or a bit of color, not the whole ad.)

An OK service, will be keeping an eye on them.

I have to say... I'm again disappointed to see that Shopify integrates such expensive solutions, for easy fixes. I don't get why Shopify can't be more competitive with pricing... $30 a banner? What the heck.

A very expensive solution if you want to produce new banners every week.

Was a little disappointed with the high rate of $ 30 for each banner. I had in fact understood it like that (One-time payment) was a one-time payment in order to produce all the banners you wanted. :-(

Hi Aaron, thanks for the feedback. We're always scrutinizing our pricing, so your input definitely figures into our thinking. Sorry that our app launch link didn't do what you expected. The features you're suggesting (i.e., completely pre-populating a banner ad based on the product page you came from) will be available in Version 2 of the app, which ought to be available within a few weeks. It's good to know that we're on the right track with what our users want to see.

We're still in the process of debugging the app and it would be great to know if anything went wrong as you were using it.

And thank you for the compliments on the quality of the banner ad itself. Allowing people to create sharp, professional-looking ads is our ultimate goal.

Finally, I hope you'll come back to the app and give it another try, especially once we have Version 2 available. I expect it will be much closer to what you had in mind when you installed Canned Banners.

I installed it and was excited to make some ads for my adroll retargeting but it doesn't do what it says. It doesn't import any of the product data when I click on the Canned Banner link in the product page. It just takes me to my CannedBanners account where I have to create the Ad from scratch.
I also have to say that it seems to me that $30 per banner is a bit high for a service where you have to do everything yourself and they are just providing a tool. There should either be a one time fee for unlimited banners or a tiered system where it is, say, $30 for one $50 for two $60 for 3 etc.

I give it three stars because it does make a nice, flash banner if you put in the work and pay the high fee.
