Directed Edge Product Recommender

Great app! Very simple, loads quickly, good customisation options. It really works! Very impressed. Only minor criticisms are - would be nice to be able to insert recommendations anywhere you like, rather than just the landing, product and cart page. e.g. I would like to add to customer's account pages, or a Recently Viewed page so I can link to it from anywhere (instead I added the recently viewed module on the index page with an anchor name, so I can link from anywhere to "/#recent") Bit of a workaround but it's ok. However, on private browsing it won't track recently viewed, so my link just goes to an empty space.. no way of writing "nothing here". Also, the price seems a bit steep, I think if it was brought down then it would fly off the app store shelves.

All in all though, I've been looking for this app for a long time, and every shopify store should have it and will benefit I'm sure. 9/10

Great recommendations, looks nice, customisable and the support was really helpful too.

Works great!
- It's great for up-selling products especially when you bundle items together (e.g. tops and bottoms). Highly recommended for paired items - the app makes it easy to group items together.
- Can be customized by CSS which makes it easily blend with your store
- Staff was easy to work with and promptly responded to questions

Excellent application and very easy to install. Furthermore the support staff was great, I needed a few small modifications to have the app fit my theme even better and the support through Directed Edge's online chat guided me right through it.

With the Directed Edge branding gone in this new version, this does what it is meant to, well, and with a minimum of fuss. Recommended if you have the budget.

Very Nice App! It helped a lot to promote some new products with less popularity. Also, the customer service is simply awesome, always available to give support...

Shouldn't a recommendations app be using the following information to make suggestions?

- which collection the product is in
- which vendor makes the product
- viewing history of the specific customer
- overall viewing patterns

As far as I can tell, this app mainly uses purchase history, which isn't very helpful in a new store.

The app supports CUSTOM collections, but not SMART collections, which is how we power all our categories.

Holding off judgment for a few more months while our order history builds.

All these people complaining about having to pay for this app need to think about what they are saying. If they are not willing to pay $39/month for an app that could SIGNIFICANTLY increase their sales, they must not be selling any good products. This app integrated very quickly and while I wish Shopify would have this (and should have this) directly built into their shopify cart, I am VERY impressed with how this app performs. A small price to pay for basically the same technology that Amazon uses to make recommended products and bundles. Excellent work Directed Edge.

Tried to sort out a billing issue with the developer about being charged some astronomical price like $249 USD and wanted to go back down to $9.00 which was my original price I was paying. He then said they're discontinuing the $9.00 package and was going to raise it up nearly 3x's more per month So I had to pull out. it's way to much for my taste. Sales haven't declined since i've removed this app so i'm okay with my choice.

Waaaaay too expensive for what it does. For $10 a month, I may have kept it, but IMO it's definitely not worth it at the current price.

Its not cool that I have to have a, Directed Edge, link on every single one of my product pages AND pay $39 a month.

This app is really easy to install and very powerful in supplying recommendations for both existing and new products.

It is easy to check the value added to your store by tracking revenue source in your analytics package.

Fantastic support when it is needed but the only grumble would be the "Recommendations by Directed Edge" link placed on our store.

We've been using the Directed Edge ExpressRex app on our storefront since it was in beta and we couldn't be happier. It suggests complmentary products to customers based on actual sales data, so the suggestions are always relevant. This wonderful app was easy to install, and most importantly, it has increased our average order size by a sizable amount. Great app, great customer service and it makes you money. We love it!

The recommendations make a HUGE difference in sales. They look great on each page and the checkout page, as well. It really brings a professional look to the store. Orders started coming in with multiple items on the very day we installed it and now are the norm. It has an amazing effect and is really worth it. Plus, super easy to use, once installed it does the work for you. Recommendations are on every big e-commerce site out there, if you want to increase items per sale, this is the best way to do it.

This app is easy to install and customize, looks very professional. The best part though is the customer service--they are so responsive and friendly, and they keep in touch to make sure everything's working. I wish this company would make a product review app. Highly recommended.

Really great app! The data looks really accurate and there are quite a few customisable features now so it will sit perfectly in just about any site.

Depending on your site, the price is actually really good value - totally takes care of suggested products for you and is a great advantage to small independent sites trying to compete with giants like amazon.

Live data which we've found as helpful as our customers find it and Directed Edge are fantastic to deal with. They've already made plenty of improvements and i'm pretty sure the app will get better and better.
