UpPromote Affiliate Marketing

I had high expectations for UpPromote, but unfortunately the quality of affiliate applications was very disappointing. At least if you're hoping to get applicants from their marketplace. It may be ok if you're doing your own promotion to attract real affiliates.

Out of the first five applicants, 3 were coupon or deal websites that appear to add no real value and may simply capture customers who were already intending to purchase. 4 out of 5 submitted applications with no information about how they plan to promote the brand, making it difficult to assess whether they are a good fit. I had to contact them via e-mail to ask more details (which turned out a waste of time anyway).

As a camping and outdoor gear brand, we expected more relevant and professional applicants, which did not occur at all. For example, one recent application came from an email address "discreet69****"... embarrassing.

The platform itself seems to work as intended, but there is no quality control or relevance of affiliate applications - even if you apply rules and restrictions for applicants.

I installed this from my mobile phone using default commission amounts that I later realized I don't have the margin for. After finding nowhere to change them either on mobile or desktop, I was left with no alternative but to uninstall the app. Not ready for prime time. Keep trying!

For two weeks we have been trying to pay our affiliates but the PayPal payments fail and leave no trace of why. This worked great until this month, now we have a bunch of pissed off affiliates and have lost faith in this app.

I am giving this 2 stars because of the very low quality of affiliates they allow to sign up on the platform. Mostly foreign coupon sites inquired. Further, I do not believe they have remotely the number they claim. I sell a fairly common mens fashion product. Yet when I search for affiliates there was only ONE affiliate that turned up. An amatuer with no audience. The tools might work fine, I don't know. But if you are signing up because there is a great base of quality affilaites to contact, don't bother.

The app is nice and very easy to use, and the support is great. The main issue is the marketplace, which is full of scammers. The app developers should take responsibility for cleaning it up rather than leaving merchants to deal with the problem.

I'm writing this review just of my experience with my niche store. The only good thing was the live support. U can do pretty much nothing without paying 30$ a month for the basic plan. After paying I used all their reccomended apps and setup my affiliate program, but had no affiliates for a week. It's really not a good app for niche stores, or if you're a beginner. After buying the subscription a lot more apps pop up to 'increase affiliates' that are 89$ a month. So personally they just want to make as much money from you and there is no guarantee to find affiliates. I added 1 star because of the live support, wich is actually on every app but okay.

Seems like it should work well but the yellow check doesn't go away after creating a text checkout?

I feel like this is too hard to set up and should be much easier. I can't figure out easy things like telling people the important details about the program before they sign up.

I just loaded the app to my store, onboarding process is seamless, easy. Looks interesting & I'm curious about what happens in the next days.. will update you'all soon. Nah! nothing happened. got like 3 affiliates , but that's it. app was just occupying space on my store. not productive for me.

I don't know how this app got so many 5 star reviews but the app is VERY MISLEADING. In order to actually pay your affiliates you must have the $69.99 / month plan!! Well there goes my whole profit! It's quite embarassing actually to announce an affiliate program and then find out you cannot process payments to your affiliates! If you don't upgrade to the $70 plan, you have to process payments outside of the app. Some of my affiliates have debit cards so I have to now go sign up for some other third party and pay everyone MANUALLY. I am so frustrated because it truly feels like I've been scammed. How am I now supposed to cancel or pay insane amount of money, I barely get any affiliate referrals!! At least make it affordable for people who barely bring in any affiliates! I'd rather have a plan that grows and charge me more the more $$ I bring in. $70 is insane for small businesses like mine, that's the whole reason I even signed up for an affiliate program is trying to make more sales because none of my online ads are working anymore and I'm barely surviving. I thought ok maybe I'll upgrade to the $20 plan but NOPE CANNOT PROCESS PAYMENTS WITH THAT EITHER!!!! Small businesses beware plus a lot of affiliates will only sign up to place orders for themselves and that that commission for themselves like a coupon. I'm so upset I don't even know what to do.
