URGENT WARNING TO SHOPIFY STORE OWNERS: AliDrop is a Financial Risk and Customer Service Nightmare!
Fellow Shopify store owners, heed this warning! My recent experience with AliDrop has been nothing short of a financial and emotional drain, exposing a deeply flawed system and a shocking level of gaslighting from their support. If you're considering AliDrop, please read this before you risk your business.
I was lured in by the promise of seamless dropshipping, only to discover that AliDrop's pricing is a treacherous trap. I imported a product weeks ago at a solid $43.20, setting my selling price for a healthy profit. Imagine my horror when I accidentally stumbled upon the fact that the actual cost of this very same product within AliDrop had skyrocketed to $62.14, plus an additional $20.22 for shipping! This wasn't a minor fluctuation; this was a catastrophic price hike that instantly turned my supposed profit into a massive loss.
The most infuriating part? I received absolutely no notification of this critical price change, despite a "notifications tab" being present but empty. AliDrop's representative, Erwin, repeatedly and adamantly insisted that I should have received a notification on the AliDrop dashboard for price changes from AliExpress. He even sent a screenshot pointing to this very "notifications tab." When I presented undeniable evidence that this tab, though present, displayed absolutely no alerts, and that both AliDrop and AliExpress were showing higher prices, Erwin's responses became a masterclass in gaslighting.
Instead of acknowledging the system's failure or his own misinformation, Erwin pivoted. He implied I was confused, suggesting that "showing a different price on AliDrop or Shopify doesn’t mean the seller changed the price on the AliExpress side." He then blamed "regional pricing differences," "logged-in vs. logged-out pricing," and AliDrop using "default supplier price" – all while still maintaining that notifications should occur for AliExpress seller changes. This constant shifting of blame and refusal to accept responsibility for the lack of notifications, despite the clear evidence of an empty notification tab, is textbook gaslighting. It left me feeling frustrated, unheard, and questioning my own understanding of a very straightforward issue.
The sheer inconsistency in their information is a red flag. First, I was told I'd pay the AliDrop rate. Then, after more probing, it was "clarified" that the actual price paid at order fulfillment would be the current AliExpress price, which was yet another differing figure ($48.38 in my case, compared to AliDrop's $62.14 and my original $43.20). This isn't "oversimplification"; it's a dangerous lack of clarity that can decimate your profit margins.
To add insult to injury, there is no auto-price sync feature within AliDrop. This means that even if you somehow manage to manually track the constantly fluctuating AliExpress prices (which they admit you must do), you then have to manually update every single product in your Shopify store. This is an archaic and unsustainable process for any serious dropshipper, making AliDrop a time sink rather than a solution. And don't even think about checking price history within AliDrop – it simply doesn't exist.
My experience with AliDrop has been a stark lesson in the dangers of entrusting your business to a platform with such fundamental flaws. The combination of unnotified price increases (despite an empty notification tab), conflicting information, the absence of essential features, and the gaslighting from their support team makes AliDrop a liability, not an asset.
Do NOT risk your hard-earned money and business reputation with AliDrop. You will be forced into constant, manual price monitoring, and if you encounter issues, be prepared for a frustrating battle against a support system that seems more interested in deflecting blame than providing genuine solutions. Look elsewhere for a dropshipping partner that offers transparency, reliability, and actual support.

I was looking for apps with POD and also Dropshipping. Since the beginning of August, I wrote several emails asking whether they offered musical products and which ones had warehouses in Europe or faster delivery mechanisms. However, the only reply I received was that I should install the app myself, search for the products, and check them one by one.
So, I installed the app on August 14th. On that very same day, I verified that the product prices were the same—or even higher—than the prices these same merchants were selling directly to end customers in Europe. In other words, a producer was directly competing with the retailer. This is called unfair competition and should not be allowed on Shopify.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs, going back to my great-grandfather. People who traded internationally. My father planned and built one of the country’s largest chemical industries, and he always had different prices for end consumers and retailers—sometimes as low as 1% of the retail price. Everyone benefited. He sold to retailers almost at cost price. For example, he could sell a product at €0.01/liter, and then retailers (all of them) would sell to end consumers at €5/liter. Everyone had their role. Each person did what they knew best.
When someone wants to capture everything for themselves, besides being legally considered “unfair competition,” it is simply unethical. In my opinion, such an app should not be on a platform alongside other sellers. Shopify should evaluate what is best for the sellers, always aiming at the greater good, for society, for healthy balance.
I also learned this from my mother. Once, I asked her why she never shopped at the same place (supermarket or elsewhere), and she answered: “To distribute the money among everyone.” That is the role, above all, of people who are truly rich—in spirit.
Although I immediately uninstalled the app, I later saw in my bank statement that they still charged me. I also received an email with a “shady business offer,” giving me two options where they would not refund my money, but instead tried to push me into continuing business with them. I am not interested—neither now nor ever. People without honor do not deserve trust. I only lose €100 once.
Perhaps this is the very reason why TEMU cannot establish itself in the market: lack of trust.
My mistake was installing an app that claimed to represent the strongest Chinese companies. I believe they are as much retailers as I am on Shopify. Therefore, I also believe that their only goal is to profit from the app fees, not to actually do business.
Interestingly, I have just read that the app was developed in Dubai. That would explain a lot…
