About Apple Business Chat
Apple Business Chat is a powerful new way for customers to connect with you. Customers browsing your store can use Messages to contact you using their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. With Apple Pay, customers can even complete purchases seamlessly from within Messages.
Customer messages show up inside Shopify Ping, a free iOS app. Ping lets you manage all your conversations in one place and share products and discounts with only a few taps.
With Shopify and Apple Business Chat you can:
- Add and customize a Chat button on your online store
- Specify business hours and an expected response time
- Allow your customers to ask product and support questions using Messages on their iPhone, iPad, or mac
- Respond to inquiries in real-time using Shopify Ping

Agreed with the sentiment of other comments here. The app works, but the lack of customization (i.e. my personal phone number and profile picture attached rather than a store icon) makes it somewhat undesirable. Even very limited customization of the icon or store details would be great.
Pro: Puts all chats into Ping. ApplePay.
Con: Connected to my personal cell number and unable to change it to anything else. :(

In terms of the phone number, Apple requires a number to be present, which is why you'll see it linked to your cellphone. However, the app automatically pulls the number from Settings > General - this means you can change the phone number featured here and it will update for Apple Business Chat as well.

Everything works great and I am very happy with this addition. There is only thing that bothers me a lot, which was also mentioned on another review:
- Showing another phone number in the info contact card without option to change it.
Once this gets fixed and they add the option to use our own logo I will be more than happy to give it 5 stars.
