Australia Post shipping calculator is a Shopify application that allows you to integrate Australia Post shipping calculation with your Shopify store.

The application displays a list of shipping options and corresponding shipping cost in your Shopify cart page in real-time based on the items being ordered. Once customers select a shipping method, the shipping cost is added to the cart and customers can complete their purchases. You can choose to place your surcharge on top of Australia Post to recover some of the processing cost.

The benefits of using real time rates instead of flat shipping rates are

  • Customers are charged reasonable rates according to the items being ordered.
  • You are assured that you will not lose money on shipping items.
  • Should Australia Post changes its rates, you are protected as rates are returned in real time.

This POINTLESS app should not be available on Shopify. SHOPIFY, PLEASE CULL. It's causing your guru's and the rest of us business builder's grief. It requires the "carrier-calculated shipping feature option" installed. This is not an app to search for, but something your guru can add to the account for $15/mth. Then you still have problems. TIP: DOWNLOAD THE dinky di, true blue, fair dinkum Australia Post Shipping Extension app and stay away from this lemon. Happy days!

Basically installed the app. No way of getting it working.
Got my My Shopify expert to look at it and same problem. Then attempted to contact via support contact page, still no reply from app developer.
Not recommended at all unfortunately. In summary, "Buyer beware !"

A very 'clunky' app to get up and running. Pretty far from click and go it requires your theme to be modified (either yourself if you know how or sending it off to them). I found it made my checkout section a bit cheap looking also, but that could be down to my theme, who knows.

As far as options for Aus shipping goes, it may be the best of 2 evils (the other one requires you to have carrier calculated shipping which is a min of $20 extra p/m).

If your products are many and of varied weights this app could be awesome for you, turned out to be too much hassle for me though.

Support is good.
