MLV Auto Currency Switcher

I’ve updated my review (originally from September 2, now February 2026) to reflect our longer-term experience.

First, credit where it’s due. The fact that I can book a call and actually speak to someone puts them head and shoulders above many other apps in this space. That level of access matters. They’ve also helped embed the widget into our website navigation, which we appreciated. That said, it often takes one to two weeks of consistent follow-up to get relatively simple changes implemented.

The biggest issue, however, is structural and significantly impacts any serious global e-commerce brand.

We’re seeing a drop in approved products across all regions in Google. The root cause appears to be price mismatches between our product feed and our landing pages. This is driven by how the app handles currency URLs.

At the moment, all currencies resolve to the same URL. So Google may crawl the page expecting GBP pricing but see USD or EUR pricing instead, depending on IP-based currency switching. Even though checkout currency is correct, the visible landing page price does not consistently match the feed price for that specific region.

For brands running global Google Shopping campaigns, this creates product disapprovals and directly impacts traffic and revenue. The solution requires dynamic, currency-specific URLs (a unique URL per currency) so that the landing page price always matches the feed price for that region.

If you are a purely domestic store, this may not be a major issue. But if you are a global e-commerce brand relying on Google feeds, this limitation makes the app far less viable in its current structure.

Support is accessible, but the technical limitation around multi-currency URL handling is a serious constraint for international operators.

This app works flawlessly and integrates seamlessly with my Shopify store. The auto currency switcher is accurate, fast, and enhances the shopping experience for my international customers. Setup was quick and easy, and it works perfectly with my theme. Highly recommend it to any merchant looking to provide a smooth multi-currency shopping experience!

The app works well both on mobile (burger menu) and desktop (header), exactly as needed.

Bonus points for how they handle feedback — even small “nice-to-have” suggestions were taken seriously.

This plugin is excellent for displaying local currency on Shopify stores based on user's IP address. The customer care is also outstanding special thanks to Riya for her prompt support. The plugin works perfectly, and I'm planning to upgrade to the pro plan soon.

Please don’t waste your time with this app. Their support is unresponsive—no replies, chat is always offline, and they make you to email for support never respond back. If you run into issues, it’s a sign to switch to a different app. Honestly, don’t even bother starting with this one!

This app is incredibly helpful, especially for those of us in Indonesia who face currency limitations with Shopify. It allows us to use all the popular currencies in the world, which is a game-changer! I use this app on many of my stores. What's even more impressive is the support team. They are incredibly responsive and helpful. If you need assistance, just contact them, and they'll provide amazing support.

I've had the app installed for a while and have encountered the same problems time after time.

When switching currency, the rounding rules that you set up in markets (rounding to 0 decimal points) doesn't flow through to this app. So for a currency like Kuwait Dinar, instead of 145KWD, it shows 145.760KWD - which doesn't look great or professional.
This applies to all currencies - ignoring the decimal rules you can set with Shopify, so USD shows as $450.00 for example.

I have contacted support numerous times and they either say it's a shopify problem, or that they just can't help me.

Additionally, they are great at the initial customisation setup, but EVERY TIME you update your theme, their customisations are removed, and you have to reach out to them to edit it for you again, which has become extremely tiresome.

It is such a shame as this app is generally good at what it does, but the creators seem to have no desire to refine it to make it an excellent experience for shopify users and their customers.

I will be looking around to find an alternative.

The app is great, but if there is also a language selector based on the customer ip address it will be far greater, thats why i gave it 4 stars not 5

For the Technical, Jay was fast very fast actually, they told me they need until Monday to finish the technical task but he already finished it within 1 hour on Friday.
