We had a perfectly functioning Website till Feb 2026 and was away in March-early April, 2026. When we got back some of the key links and pages on our Website has vanished. Looking at the activity log for Mar, we find that Rewind has been hiding and unhiding pages and its totally stuffed the site

I now have asked them restore pages. I don't understand how they have admin access to do this - backup's should be read only and a write based on user approval.

Thank you for your feedback. Please note that Rewind backups are read-only and do not modify your Shopify store. If you choose to run a restore manually, your data will be restored. I recently lost 17,000 email addresses which we had accumulated over a serious amount of time. Rewind was able to recover all of them for me. They made it easy for me to do this and I totally appreciate this service.

Used this for more than 3 years. Logged in today and noticed that our account was deactivated because we have not logged in for over 90 days. This is a back and restore app. So we will have a need to login to check only when there is a need for a restore.

However, the app did not stop collecting the charges for all these months. To add to the woes, the account restoration also did not work.

We understand it can be frustrating when needing to re-authenticate your account. Accounts require re-authentication for security reasons after 90 days of inactivity. You can easily re-authenticate by clicking the confirmation link sent to your email. This is a standard practice to protect the integrity of your Rewind account. Rest assured, your backups have been running the entire time.

Support have been great responding to my queries and assisting with requests I have made.

We have two Shopify sites that use the Rewind Backup app, and their support was happy to talk me through setting up the app on our second site so that we could bundle them both into one subscription.

They also have several different types of subscription and helped me choose the one that worked best for us.

I used to love this app, but they brough up the price which is fine (but no notificiation), they had also failed to answer my 4 email requests asking for a JSON hard copy. In fact I haven't heard from them since Christmas time. For backing up your shopify store I advise other options. Thanks ---- Updating this review from Feb 18th as support reached out. It turned out that the email stopped being recognized by their support system. This has since been resolved and with helpful support I have gone back to them as you need good backups and a helpful person/good customer service at the other end. Otherwise it just doesn't work. Regarding price change I just missed the notification. Thanks

I have successfully restored in the past with Rewind. I used to have a good review for this app. However, on Friday we regretted deleting some shopify blog posts and decided to recover them from backup. Not only the restore job became stuck at some point. It did with no indication of the process, any error message, any notification of it. It just stopped restoring and the status never changed to completed, failed or anything.

We tried to reach out to support and there was nobody there, probably because it was the beginning of a weekend (Friday Evening). There was nobody on Friday, there was nobody on Sat, Sun. It's Monday and still no interaction from their side. Unfortunately, restores need to be reliable or have somebody reachable if they aren't.

This has not been the case for us. An AI bot created an email-based ticket on our behalf on Friday, and when reaching out the following day asking for progress, created a new ticket.

Our unrecovered blog posts are already accumulating 404's for 3 days now. A further restore run was attempted on Sunday, with the same silent fail result.

As I pointed out in my previous 5 star review. A backup needs to be reliable and available, but also recoverable. If any of these 3 fails, you're left alone.

I do not recommend this app. It no longer backs up inventory tracking quantities, so when you restore listings in Shopify, all items are returned as untracked inventory.

Rewind informed me that due to Shopify’s API limitations, they’re unable to properly track inventory quantities within listings. This means that if you need to restore products you accidentally deleted, you still have to manually re-enable inventory tracking for each item and physically recount and re-enter all stock quantities.

Given the high price point, the app doesn’t offer nearly enough time savings or functionality to justify the cost.
