This review is on set up and installation only. I installed the app and added the code to my theme. But since my coding skills are not expert level, customer service at BOLD took over and installed all the code correctly. I looked through it all today and it is perfect. We are launching our subscription service as a new feature later this week so are excited.

Update: Oli reached out and was quite helpful and overall pretty responsive to everything I've said. Can't fault the customer service! The description above for the app still doesn't fully align with what it's capable of and the images likewise seem a bit misleading. It seems as though they really want you to get the app based on what it might be capable of in several months time rather than what it's capable of now. I guess that's reflected in the current price of £0, but it does still set expectations without matching them. It seems pretty limited, quite frankly. The description above states "Set custom delivery intervals using flexible logic, including length of time, specific dates, day of the week, set number of deliveries, and more — or let your customers select their own frequency." but there's no option for setting a day of the week (only date), nor specifying number of deliveries... I can't imagine what "...and more" refers to because the listed features don't even seem to actually be there. No option for prepaid subscriptions, which seems like a pretty crucial thing in the lead up to christmas.

Our team is correcting the description to reflect current functionality. I am still in the process of setting up everything and so far it seems easy. Once I get everything up an running I will then determine the ease of this app.
We decided to try Bold Subscriptions because of the ease of installation and the nice documentation. Indeed, the setup was very quick and straightforward. Creating subscription groups was a true breeze. Unfortunately, their new version of Bold Subscriptions is only in english and is incompatible with translation apps (confirmed by Bold support). This makes the app unusable for a shop that is not in english. Perhaps I will reconsider when they do implement functionality for other languages! If you only need english, this is the app for you, it is very solid.

I just installed the app and I'm sure this app will work fine BUT I have products that I DO NOT want to be shown to customers from within their login portal in the "add product to subscription" section. Unfortunately there is NO WAY to hide products here which is asinine because of course the app allows you to restrict what products are available for subscription to begin with but then they just show everything by default in the customer portal regardless of what I want made available? The support team called this a known bug but I would not call it that since the app as been out for several years now, it's way beyond bug status, this is just Bold being lazy. I was on Bold subscriptions 1.0 and finally ported over to this version only to find that it is far less customizable in many ways, this being the one I can't seem to work around.

Cody was a great help in arranging the install and answering questions. Still need the install team to fix some issues, but it's very simple interface to use as someone who doesn't want to get involved in coding/script etc. Not as much functionality as V1, but I like the integration with shopify checkout to make the process much smoother for the consumer, and hopefully for me too. Hopefully more functionality can be added over the coming weeks/months to take it to another level.

Customer Service is insane. Immediately responsive and incredibly helpful! I couldn't figure out how to customize some of the widget components and Gustav helped build EXACTLY what i needed.
