90% of all chats are bots, Chatra tells me that not their fault, it is happening in their product so-maybe they could take some accountability for it happening. Deleting the app.

We’ve already discussed this with you directly, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify it publicly for anyone considering Chatra. Chatra does not generate website traffic on its own, it simply interacts with visitors who are already arriving on your website. Bots, crawlers, and automated traffic reach a site independently of Chatra, just as they would with contact forms, analytics tools, or page views.

Chatra includes a simple and fully reversible ban option, which many of our users successfully use to manage unwanted conversations. In addition, we automatically filter out obvious bot activity whenever clear bot signals are detected. However, many modern bots, including AI crawlers and advanced scripts, are specifically designed to closely mimic real human behavior. From a chat widget’s perspective, such traffic is indistinguishable from real visitors.

Because of this, aggressively blocking at the chat level would inevitably risk blocking real users as well. For that reason, managing bot traffic is handled at the website or infrastructure level using tools such as firewalls, bot protection, rate limiting, or CDN services (for example, Cloudflare, Akamai, or AWS WAF). This is the standard approach across the industry and applies to all chat solutions, not just Chatra.

We have found Chatra to be a great platform. There are features on it that we're using that streamline our interaction with customers.
I REALLY appreciated Julia from Chatra supporting me with a query the other day. Her input was detailed, spot on, and timely.
Our for-purpose organisation encourages you to consider this chat app on your Shopify store.
BTW we have six stores and Chatra on all six.

I am really impressed with this service. I had a minor tech glitch and Anna, in the chat box spent considerable time solving the issue. She was wonderful. (Hey, Chatra, give Anna a raise!!). Overall, this addition to my online store has been a game changer for my CSM.

Was a great free live chat for small businesses allowing 20 chats per month, however this has now been reduced to 5 which almost forces you into paying to upgrade. Will be looking for an alternative.

We've had Chatra for one year now. We think it's worked really well for our store. Has captured leads we wouldn't have otherwise captured. I am now adding it to a second store. Their support is very quick and gave me detailed answers on the things i needed help with ( thank you Julia )

we used this app for couple of years- but last week google took our ads off because of the app , it said it has malicious software

we have since taken the app off- though we still have 3 months left on the price paid
But the ads are back online ,

We understand how frustrating this must be, and we want to clarify that this situation was unfortunately beyond our control, as it originated with Google’s automated processes. We take user security very seriously: we perform antivirus checks on all uploaded files and maintain strict security protocols.

Google’s detection systems flagged a potential malware risk in a file uploaded via our chat widget, resulting in the temporary blocking of the domain we use for file hosting. To address this quickly, we migrated to a new domain and confirmed there was no actual risk to our users. Google unblocked the original domain on October 30, indicating it was likely a false alarm.

However, Google Ads support may still be working with outdated information, so some customers may need to contact Google directly for the resolution to reactivate ads.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience as we work to keep our platform safe and secure. Please feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance.

Used successfully for almost 3 years. All of a sudden stopped working and their customer support is worthless. Save you "AND YOUR CUSTOMERS" the hassle and look for something else!!!!

We are sorry to hear that you were experiencing issues with Chatra! We currently do not see any issues in your account. Both the chat widget and the email integration are working, and messages arrive in your Chatra account. When you talked to our support team, you had an issue with the email forwarding. We asked you to share a screenshot of the forwarding settings in your email client, but unfortunately, we never received a reply. We see that emails are now being successfully forwarded to your Chatra account, so most probably you already updated the settings or reconnected your mailbox. If you still have issues with anything else, please let us know.

Excellent application that we have been using for several years now.
We recently had a problem with our subscription plan which we needed to change to a monthly plan, and for which we had confusing information which resulted in a very frustrating situation. Anna from Brevo was great in solving this problem in no time.

I recommend the app.
