Umami Fries, Inc.

Honest review: The platform works great if you use it "as is". Unfortunately there is no technical support number to call and all correspondence is done via email. We finally received support from someone named Sam and he/she was awesome because Sam addressed all the issues as opposed to looking at one support ticket and telling us to file a new ticket for the other issues. It only makes sense that all the issues are addressed because the app is unusable otherwise. Out of the box the app had bugs but Sam fixed them all for us and emailed us when he/she completed each milestone issue in a 4 hour window. This is the tech support we were waiting for. I do recommend this plug in from Zapiet. It is a good solution for restaurants.


App worked great, but I find it's too expensive for us. We're an online shop that is just starting out. The company would get far more people installing their app if they figured out a scalable model that grows as your sales grow or a longer trial period.

The Olive Grove

As others said, support/any communication with this app is non-existant. 14/05/2020 -Edit: Support has been much more responsive and helpful once contact with the company was established- That would not be an issue if the knowledge-base covered all its issues and people could just do it themselves. The app has been successfully installed and is "working" indeed. That is the postcode widget works, the checkout works and the delivery zones and rates work. The annoying zapietld can be removed(for the customer but not the admin in the orders page) and the app can be integrated onto any theme following their instructions easily. Awesome on the front end! But, and that is a huge BUT what about the backend?

EDIT: Retracted Point 1, this was an error due to the accelerated checkout. All the orders appear when the accelerated checkout is disengaged. This could indeed be found in their knowledge-base but was not part of the setup process.

1) Orders DO NOT appear in the App Dashboard, they do only if and when they feel like it! Managing orders by date & time to be delivered(rather than created) becomes impossible because from 10 live orders you might get 5 or 6 of them to appear and the rest are somewhere in outer space, never to be seen again. This makes the app kind of useless for its intended purpose. As staff cannot use this app to manage the orders from the app backend. You might think that one of the other Print or Order management apps could perhaps take over and simply use Zapiet as an in-between but after trying them all I must report that none of them have the functionality to sort orders by the delivery date and time that Zapiet has fed into them. They are there as notes though. This really puts us in front of a wall as fast-paced environments require fast-paced and reliable software to be able to keep up.

2) Date Format, Zapiet passes all orders in this format YYYY-MM-DD, which is not very convenient in the UK, this may not be a problem for low volume store with few orders but for bulk orders it opens itself up for a lot of mistakes to be made. Funny that in 2020 software still struggles to give the user the option to see the date format in his/her own preference.

Ox Verte

We found this app to fit the specific needs we had for our store to do local delivery and make pickups available. We breakdown delivery charges by zip code and used Zapiet's Delivery rates by zip code app to make that work. We had an issue because of a misconfiguration (missed a setting) and local delivery wasn't working, but Bogi helped out and went back and forth with us to resolve the issue and answer other questions we had. There was a slight delay, this was at the start of all the covid lockdowns and I kind of expected as such. We did have one feature that seemed to work in the last version, that was changed in the most recent version, but the app is very well made and thoughtfully put together. Thanks guys.

This app has been pretty great for our online store! It allows us to take orders for local pick-up. It's fairly straight-forward to use and set up. Zapiet has been very responsive in their customer service and helping to address any issues we have. I would definitely recommend this app! Thank you Zapiet and all your great employees .

Had to get help modifying it so that our products had these options available but only certain products were available for shipping and to get the shipping fees applied correctly. Les Flavoureux - Commande en ligne

We developed a platform to quickly provide services to our region with prepared meals to face the COVID crisis. We had a few problems at first with the integration of this app (mainly due to our selected theme), but the Zapiet staff were quick and (4 out of 5) reliable to provide us with answers (if you can get your hands on Stephane - great guy!). We had deadlines to meet and they were a bit tight with meeting them, we had to give a few extra pushes - it seems there were also very busy on their side. All in all, things worked out great, deadlines were meat - with a few drop of sweat - and the functionalities are all working just fine! Thanks guys!
