After using CookieYes for a year, account was suddenly suspended, and CookieYes uninstalled the app from my store. Very inconvenient and no explanation or support given - avoid

While moving CookieYes fully into Shopify, in line with Shopify’s latest guidelines and to make essential features free for all our users, a technical issue affected a number of accounts and removed the existing app setup, including yours. This was not caused by anything on your end, and we take full responsibility for the disruption it caused after a year of you using CookieYes.
We’ve since reached out to you directly to explain what happened, confirm your consent records and banner configuration have been recovered, and help get everything fully restored on your store.

After a few months, CookieYes suddenly emailed me claiming I hadn’t paid for my subscription. This is incorrect, because I pay for the app natively through my Shopify account via the monthly invoice.
The email stated that I had 23 days to pay before a certain date, but that date was already 23 days in the past. Just a few minutes later, I received another email saying I was too late and that the app had been uninstalled from my webshop.
I find this a very strange and unprofessional way to treat customers. As a result, I decided to cancel my subscription (or rather, CookieYes cancelled it for me). I’m now waiting to receive a refund, since I already paid for the full month.
In the meantime, I’ve installed Consentmo (2000+ 5‑star reviews), and their support team helped me configure my cookies immediately after installation. That is what I call good service.
We’re very sorry for the confusion and frustration this caused. During a recent migration to make CookieYes fully native to Shopify, a technical issue on our end caused incorrect billing emails to go out, these did not accurately reflect the subscription payments you had already made through Shopify.
We understand how concerning it must have been to receive an overdue payment notice with an already-expired deadline, followed shortly afterwards by another notification that the app had been uninstalled.
Our team has identified the issue and is working to ensure your CookieYes setup and existing settings are restored correctly.
As part of this same migration, all essential CookieYes features, including what previously required our paid Ultimate plan, are now available free for Shopify merchants going forward.
We sincerely apologise for the disruption and appreciate your patience while we get this resolved. We’ve also reached out to you directly to sort out the details.
With my rather special case the Nick from the staff was really helpful by helping to understand and analyze the issues and to get problems resolved.
