When it came time to add more Options to our products, there was no hunting or researching necessary. We've plugged Infinite Options into several of our stores. Click. Setup. Done. And get this... it's FREE. These guys (gals) are stocking up massive Karma points giving this quality product away for free and going out of their way to provide top-notch customer service. does not allow you to create more than 100 variants x product, therefore it does not really provide infinite options.
Sounds like there's some confusion around two similar features of Shopify.
The first is variants, which you've mentioned in your review, and are always limited to a maximum of 100 per product. The second are options, or "line-item properties" in Shopify-speak. These options are what Infinite Options uses to create an unlimited number of custom fields for your products including text inputs, numbers, calendars, checkboxes, drop down menus, and more. While there are some differences between the two, most stores find the end result is the same. Easy to use... and online support is helpful, but even more important to note is that we were in a rush to get a new product launched and Alan's customer support was TOP NOTCH. It is rare to get a company and / or a person who takes the the time to be helpful and is responsive in short order. Much appreciated.
I offer a lot of made-to-order customizable products, so needed this app for many specific features. It works beautifully and the support team helped me get it integrated with my theme! I use it for everything - color swatches that don't affect inventory, required text box entry, conditional drop-downs, a beautiful date-picker for scheduling consultations, and even a product bundling feature that I use to keep track of a product with two different inventory-tracked components. Everything is highly customizable with VERY clear tutorials on implementing your own code into their CSS box. Definitely check out their FAQ section and tutorials to see just how many things you can customize. I'm so impressed.
