the app was not very easy to use and the support refused to help set up only one product without an additional charge.

Top App! Top Service!
This app AUTOMATICALLY edits your live theme instead of being able to install on a test theme. When you remove it, it doesn't remove any of the code. This is terrible.
Update: The developers sent three emails AND called my physical store over the last 24 hours due to this review. They requested collaborator access to my store AFTER I had already removed the app. They sent information about how to remove the code, and asked that I remove this review. While this shows they likely have very responsive customer service, they clearly do not understand other small businesses. I cannot in good conscience give a higher score to a company that charges $50 for what is essentially beta software that edits live code.
I understand that a one-star review is very damaging to startup company, but isn't that the point of reviews? I firmly believe this is an unprofessional way to run a beta (no matter how responsive customer service is), so I cannot change the score. I suspect this team does not have a lot of experience with software development because this is such a basic mistake and such an odd pricing structure.
Also, please don't expect me to disrupt my busy day and get back to you immediately when this is your mistake. One email would have been enough followup, after which I might have chosen to respond.

Building software products using latest available web technology is a hard and time consuming process that requires a lot of resources. There are always things that can be improved. Thank goodness for this app! It made it so easy to build out a completely custom step-by-step product customization. It's super user-friendly and I cannot say enough about how amazing (and prompt) the support team is. They were quick to answer any question and went above and beyond to make sure the app was working the way I wanted it to!
Support is atrocious. Lots of bugs and things that don't work correctly. When trying to get aide or help, it takes DAYS before a response, which is wayyyy too long when your whole store runs on their app. When you do get help, you get moved from person to person. Have had an issue persistent for weeks, and it still isn't resolved. I installed and setup from top to bottom another app by the time I've even gotten a simple response. Goodbye and good riddance CPB

I've been using this app for about a month now and I can say that this is the best coutomizer app I've used. The support is fantastic also.
I've used the custom product builder in my store since I launched lolaandmaeve.com a year ago. Vlad and the team have been beyond helpful in setting up my products and the interface, they have just been great to work with. I would recommend this app for any store... it's affordable, works well, and looks great!
Does everything I need without a high price! $15 for complete customization is pretty great. It works very very well, though it is a bit confusing to use at first but I eventually figured it out. Don't forget to compress your photos before you upload them or they will take a while to load, there are free compressors you can use online.
This app is terrible! Very glitchy, does not work properly. When I realized this I tried to remove the app from my store and it deleted all of my products entirely! I had to shut my store down and add everything back in from scratch again. I would not recommend downloading this.

Thanks for your review and apologies for the inconvenience! Looks like the theme you are using isn't built based on Shopify's guidelines, so there may have been issues with the automatic installation / de-installation. We always recommend creating a backup of your published theme, before installing any application. This ensures you can always revert back to the original theme files if there are any issues!
The application is quite complex indeed, it requires reading documentation and learning some basics in order to get maximum benefit from it!
It may also require a strong PC in order to work in the admin panel while creating complex customizations (just like Photoshop).
We do offer a 30-day free trial, free demo calls, free basic help with product setup, free 24/7 support via email, free support via phone and free 1 hour development for any theme customization requests you may have - everything to make sure you can get started seamlessly!
However, 1000% our app can't delete your products! We don't even have such functionality! This must have been some mistake!

terrible UI, spent far too long learning it for it to be plagued with bugs. Devs didn't email back in reasonable time frame and failed to fix issues.

We really strive to resolve all issues reported in the least possible timeframe. However sometimes tasks take more development time than anticipated. We have developed a rather complex application that takes into account a lot of different possibilities for combining customization and personalization options.
This complexity is reflected in the UI and the timeframe required to get onboarded.
Its like working in (learning) Photoshop pretty much, but it's CPB instead. Sometimes we think ourselves that our app looks like a pilot cockpit - so many checkboxes and settings. And everything needs documentation.
In order to cover for possible delays during the initial product setup we offer a 30-day free trial, so that there is enough time to take care of everything that matters. Your case was reported on Thursday and by Sunday we released a patch. We informed you on Monday, however it seems like it was too late. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Let us know if you have any constructive recommendations or suggestions for UI / UX that would help our customers onboard faster. So far we have been trying to achieve that by adding user guides, videos and tooltips. Realistically we aren't sure if we can simplify things - because many of our happy customers use very customized versions of our application.

After some issues to start with the app working with my theme, the support team worked hard to find a solution, when many other apps would have just said sorry, not compatible for you. This was never said, they kept going at it until it was solved and I am thrilled. Great app (and yes, to start you night be overwhelmed, but one training call with them, its not so hard and you can do, I promise). This app is a must if you want to step up your custom product experience for your customer.
We are a store specialized in neon and to find a plugin that fits our needs, we lost a lot of money in other competitors and were disappointed. Best experience with a software company! What do you want when you integrate a software application? Good support, individual problem solutions, personal contact persons (real human-beings), flexibility and no hidden costs. You get all of that! The functions of a software are of course important and have to fit your own case. Everyone has to evaluate this themselves beforehand. But the value of the support is just as important! I feel personally better looked after than any of my other countless experiences with software manufacturers and I can't stop praising the team! An unbelievable achievement with so few people on board and distributed across Europe! Keep it up! I will definitely use it with other customers!
It was a very steep learning curve and I actually hired a shopify expert to help me understand it, and from them I learned how the app works for my purposes and how to add and change products on my own after they set it up for me. It's a very good tool to really customize it to how you want it so I feel that justifies the complex nature of the app. The videos online were a bit confusing to me and though I feel there can be improvement in that aspect, it didn't affect the product itself. Vlad was very helpful in answering my many questions and it took a bit of work but CPB achieved what I had envisioned with the requirements I had for the flow. I'm very very happy with the final result. Worth it.

Great App, but very poor in helping new users figure it out. It's confusing, messy and overall hard to learn. Support is not easily accessible and that was enough for me to switch to a different app. Great app if you have 5-10hrs to invest in trial & error due to a complete lack of a guide/how-to

Indeed, we have been adding SOOO many features requested by our customers over the last few years that the product setup interface became like a cockpit control panel!
We have recently started working on a refactoring / redesigning project for the admin interface to simplify it and optimize for our users based on the feedback that we have received.
While still in development - now it can be found under 'CPB App > Global Settings > Enable Beta Editor'. We are also working on adding more tooltips with instructions and short videos into the interface.

I struggled quite a bit at first to figure out the app, but was able to follow the videos and FAQ section to get things pretty much set up. I reached out to support for the rest and they were super fast and helpful. They resolved all of my issues and requests very quickly and with hardly any back-and-forth. This app was exactly what I was looking for and the service was beyond expectations. Much appreciated!!
While there are limitations to this app for my purposes, specifically regarding image modifications, the quality of the product compared to its competitors is superb. Even more important from my perspective is that the customer service is completely on-point. Immediate ticket generation, quick response/turnaround times, and the commitment to exceed expectations have made this investment invaluable for my business. Developers are terrific, especially Egor, though Vlad has been pretty great also. Highly recommend!
This app is SO amazing! Takes about an hour of playing around with it to fully figure it out, but it is incredible how much customization it has. I reached out to their team about an issue, and 8 back-and-forth messages were resolved in less than 4 hours. SO SO SO worth the $35/month.
The app provides a lot of customisation options but the documentation is not upto the mark. The backend is extremely confusing and outright illogical in certain areas. For example, you can not create a product using Shopify's backend. To enable customisation in a product, you have to create the product in the Custom Product Builder App. It seems to be a simple process of importing all products from shopify, but that is not supported by the app. UPDATE: Rest all features are a good mix of ways to work around the shopify's limitations and the after sales support is fantastic. The developers were more than helpful in customising the app for our specific needs.
I can’t say enough to recommend the Custom Product Builder, and the team behind it. It’s hard to know where to start – I have been struggling for several years to present my product line as I envisioned it – a highly personalized and customized pet themed photo jewelry line that told the customer’s story, their way. The product customizer that I had been using was as good as it could get at the time, but was unable to create a visual experience for the customer. More than that, the app developer had evolved into some bureaucratic organization that only worked certain hours – and became highly unresponsive to issues. A Shopify Expert recommended the Custom Product Builder to me, and I immediately recognized the potential to help my business. I won’t lie – it does take some work to create the product logic with layers (as it does with any customizer) – but once that’s done it’s super, super easy to make changes and tweaks…and it’s actually fun to play around with the presentation of the product customization so you get it just right. Most important, the CPB team was always there to support me, regardless of when I was working on this. From the introductory tutorial, to the ongoing response to emails when I didn’t understand something, or when things didn’t go as planned – even my dumb questions that I answered for myself one second after I sent the email – Lex, Egor and Artem were patient, helpful and super, super responsive. There are (many) times when I think I have to be nuts to be a solopreneur doing this on my own – but I am dedicated to my business and customers and I am delighted to work with people who exhibit that kind of dedication towards their business and customers. We both understand what it takes to be successful in our respective endeavors – and won’t stop in the relentless pursuit of it. You can’t go wrong with the CPB team behind you.

We have used this app for about 3 months. It was good then and they have constantly improved it. Now I would say the app is great. Support has also been excellent. We have had 3-4 occasions to request their support and they have responded and resolved all issues quickly.

After working with this app for about a month I can say that once you get a hang of it it's great. There are so many possibilities for product customization and the team has been so helpful and responsive, always tweaking the app for our specific needs and fixing any issues we had. The app itself takes some getting used to, but I'd give 5 stars for the helpfulness of the developers alone.
Nice functionality but it frequently doesn't save the product variants properly and you have to re-do it which takes ages to set-up.

We've only been working with this app for just over the 30-day trial period. While it takes a little getting used to, once we figured it out, it was exactly what we were looking for. Lex has been extremely responsive, and his team has been able to quickly resolve any challenges we've experienced. Selfishly, we'd like to keep this app a secret to ourselves, but in fairness to the great folks at Buildateam, it is only suiting that we post a great positive review in recognition of their fantastic work, incredible innovation, and invaluable support. All have been a real game-changer for our business!
I have been using this app for about a year and I can't say enough about it. It is EXACTLY what I had been looking for, allowing my customers to completely customize their accessories. It is very user friendly and is so easy to customize to make it how you want it. Above anything else, their customer support is AMAZING. They have quickly gotten back to my emails multiple times and have fixed any issue that I was having and answered any questions. If you are in the custom product industry, you need to check out this app! It does require a lot of work on the front end to set up and upload your images, but once that is all done, you don't have to worry about anything else, and it is easy to make changes.
Looking forward to seeing how the app progresses and the future updates that are coming for stability and easier implementation. Super excited to eventually integrate into one of our stores.

I really like the improvements on your upload image options. This provides our clients with custom features that were needed. Excellent work.
Support is incredible. I had so many questions/concerns but they walked me through every problem I encountered and I ended up with an absolutely incredible, one of a kind jacket builder that isn't anywhere else in the world! $50/month for this feature is so worth it. Yes you have to put in the work - make sure all your images are the same resolution and have proper transparency to layer. But the end result is great, though the learning curve is high.
The Idea is very clever, however the clunky backend and large menu is not user friendly, especially when going back and forth the menu options.The in-ability to upload images as thumbnails and re-size them straight off the bat is quite disappointing, especially for a $50 app.
One would expect the admin structure to be more user friendly and professional for the price you are paying - It just doesn't look finished.
As previously said, the idea is great, but for $50 per month, it is really not worth that, when you can in some cases get other apps that just about do the same with better menu's, much cheaper and not as frustrating.
The app is amazing, just what i needed. The support is amazing too! They were prompt, helpful and amazing - Ilya is amazing! They are willing to go the extra mile to attend to your needs. Keep it up, guys! Awesome! :D

have looked at a lot of product builders and customisers and this one is absolutely awesome- a lot of potential to create all kinds of configurators- and the team is very helpful and responsive as well.
