When running an online store, you need to understand your customers to grow your business. And since no two customers are the same, you need to learn about each unique feature, preference, or interest that helps you sell better.
Customer Fields enables you to solve these problems by creating a custom registration form for shoppers to sign up with a unique profile in your store. Finally, make sense of this data by filtering and integrating with other tools such as a CRM.
Custom Form Fields
Register customers with unique fields that you set up in the app. You can choose a wide variety of fields types with our form builder or even work with us or your developer to build your own custom form as a questionnaire. When a customer registers on your storefront, their information is collected and stored within the app, which is accessible to review or export. Example fields:
- Identification document
- Phone number
- Product preferences
- Personal preferences
- Uploaded file (e.g. photo, document, design, or PDF)
- Wholesale / retail
Tag Customers Automatically
Set up rules that will autotag the customer depending on a field selection. Once a customer is tagged, you can create unique segments in your Shopify admin to group customers by unique tags.
Advanced Customer Filtering
Easily filter and search through customers to find exactly who you’re after. For example, find registered teachers by searching email addresses ending in a “.edu” domain or find the list of customers that have birthdays this month.
Import & Export
If you have a customer database from another source, use our import feature to add customers with additional fields directly into Shopify. Importing and exporting tools support the comma-separated value (CSV) file type.
Any custom field value is saved as a metafield for that customer, which means you can augment the shopping experience based on a certain field right in Liquid or display that value to the customer within the account panel. Discover new ways of product discovery by curating products based on the data unique to each customer.
Stay in the loop by getting email notifications when a customer registers on your store or edits their account. Use this to manage and review account signups for approval processes.
Customers can edit their own information directly within the account panel of your store, which cuts out on the support requests you have to manage for a simple email or name change. Additionally, you can easily edit customer accounts directly within the app.
