Cannot be combined with bundles, which is very inconvenient.
Also, I added a digital file to a product, but then the file just vanished... In the product overview the app still says the product has a file attached, but when I click on the product it says there's no file attached. Very strange. I added the file again, we'll see if it stays there this time.
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback. I want to assure you that you should be able to create bundles that include both digital and physical products. The digital portion of the order will be fulfilled without marking the entire order as 'fulfilled'. This way, you can easily keep track of which portion of the order still needs to be fulfilled.

What happened to the update file option? How do a replace/update a file now?
On the documentation page you still have the update/replace option but not in the app...
Hi, there. This page was recently updated, but you can still replace a file in the Digital Downloads app by clicking the product you want to edit, and dropping the new file into the drop zone. You can also click “Add files” and the file you select will replace the existing one. App stopped working due to cookies updates. (It needs to be updated to support the SameSite cookie security changes made to Chrome 80.) Sent multiple emails to the developer. No response. Super frustrating.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us, and for letting us know about your experiences with the app. An update to Chrome earlier in the year changed the way it handles cookies, requiring a parameter named SameSite. All Shopify apps have been fixed to include this. If you're still receiving errors in regards to this it likely means an update is required for your Chrome browser or you'll need to clear the browser's cache. All the best! - Oliver, Shopify Support
I sell knit kits that include the yarn and the digital pattern. We have over 1500 sku's and most products have over 15 different color variants which means I have to upload the pattern for each variant! Not fun. Plus I have to go back into the digital download app and adjust the settings for a manual fulfillment for EACH PRODUCT! If they would make it easy to do a bulk digital download and a bulk manual setting I would give this 5 stars. Right now, it is the most time consuming part of my website.
Shopify missed the boat here. Many digital creators have multiple files per product and you cannot do that with this product.

Not a bad app, delivers digital files instantly - which is great.
What is bad - email notifications.
Customers already receive one email before the "Digital download is ready" email with a download link. Seems really redundant and our customers are irked by it. Major opportunity to implement a feature to turn off follow up emails.
Why doesn't Digital Downloads recognize that ive added new products to my store ?????? It only show my first product along with the two variants associated.
Hey, there. Thank you for reaching out. In order to add new Digital products, you must first create the product within your Shopify admin and then add the digital component, have you done this first? If you are creating Digital products as our video tutorial shows here (https://bit.ly/3yy4h1T) and the products are not showing in your store, this would be something we could certainly investigate with you.

I use this app to help me with my digital product.
It randomly flips from us currency to foreign currency when I post the link on my fb page or click on generated link shopify provided. It caused me to lose money because my clients thought my site was not a secure site. Talked to shopify they were not any help.

This app needs to only send the download links once the customers payment has been verified. I am losing money because customer put in their credit card details and the link gets sent. I find out later that the payment did not go through but they still get the files. Some people are so dishonest.
Doesn't work well for products that have multiple page downloads. Most of my products have 2-5 pages to download so I can't offer these as a product at the moment.
Disapppointing.
