Useful app for my site - but there was a recent change where download file purchases can no longer be automatically flagged as Fulfilled. Is it possible to provide this option again?

I needed an app that would show the download option at checkout and that would also send an email with the download link. This app is perfect if you sell digital files in your shop.

Not a bad app, delivers digital files instantly - which is great.

What is bad - email notifications.

Customers already receive one email before the "Digital download is ready" email with a download link. Seems really redundant and our customers are irked by it. Major opportunity to implement a feature to turn off follow up emails.

This is a good free app. A couple of things to consider:

If you're just selling digital goods on their own, this app automatically fulfills the order by default (sending the customer a download link). Which is good.

If you sell a product that is both physical and digital (for example I sell a physical poster, with an accompanying downloadable PDF) by default the app will fulfill this order (or at least the line item in question). This means your order doesn't show up in your list of open orders, so you wouldn't know that there is a physical item that needs dispatching (without relying on being vigilant). To counter this, you can change the settings on the digital attachment to 'manual fulfillment', which stops this. However, if you do this, the digital download link only gets sent to your customer once you've dispatched the physical product (or marked that line item as fulfilled). So if you receive an order on a Friday and don't ship it til Monday, your customer will only receive the download link on the Monday, which isn't great.

To make this app 5*, it needs a 3rd setting which automatically fulfills the digital items (sends download links to customer straight away) but also leaves the physical item unfulfilled, so that you can follow your usual dispatch process.

Generally, the app works. However, there are some issues that would have been nice to deal with. Shopify does not support this app properly. Shopify does not update the app. It's extremely disappointing how Shopify treats users of the app. 1) There is no search by order number, this implies that you have to manually flip through pages of customers, which takes , to get into one particular customers' details. 2) Shopify has not updated an app and around a year ago, it stopped opening in Safari. I am sure if Shopify looks at the stats - a lot of ecommerce store owners use Mac computers. None of my requests through Shopify support lead to any changes. Shopify does not care and does not listen. Which is a bad practice in my opinion. 3) Yes, sure, it's a basic app and on average works well, but download speed can be slow sometimes. Maybe it would make sense to add a feature, where for extra $x download speeds could be improved. But this is a secondary question.

Ive been using this app since the beginning of my shopify store and couldnt operate without it. Ive had very few issues in the past years and recommend for anyone selling PDFs or other digital content.

Well, It's free but it's also essential to use shopify for digital products. They need to do so much work on this app though. We need to be able to see when a customer has downloaded and from which IP address with order details. I can't delete files for the digital products that have been removed, they are still in the list!

The stat's page needs a complete redesign. Need a global setting for download limit. The list goes on.

It does do the job, but needs some love to make it great!

Updated review: After about 3 months of use - there are problems with large downloads not completing and the downloads are very, very slow, unacceptably slow in fact.

This app is probably OK for small files but for anything over 250 MB I would look else where. Also, the email address that the download links come from often gets rejected as spam resulting in the customer not getting the link and YOU have to manually create a link and send it to them - not good if you have 100's of orders a month!

I will have to move to a PAID app, but that is probably why this free one is so restricted isn't it Shopify?

I was using this app to deliver mix goods (a physical & digital product). At first, it worked perfectly. Customers could download digital good immediately after a successful checkout while they were waiting fulfillment of their physical item as described in the app's documentation.

Reminder
"Customers will still be able to immediately download the digital content even if fulfillment is set to manual. They are presented a link following a successful checkout."

All of a sudden it stop delivering a download URL following successful checkout. I contacted Shopify Support and I was told that the above Reminder was an inconsistency and that the app is not supposed to function that way at all. Which I still can't understand because it functioned in the way described in the App's Documentation for months. Shopify Support and the App's Developer confirmed that the Documentation that describes this functionality is an "unknown error". I guess they're happy that I reported it.

Perfecta, es fácil de usar y para lo que necesito es mas que suficiene. Yo regalo PDF o jpeg en mi tienda de Imprimibles digitales.

Y funciona perfectamente, hecho en falta poder customizar el color de el botón de descarga en la parte final del checkout.

Pero me funcina genial.
