Amai Bulk Discount & Sales

The one thing that held this app back from accomplishing what we needed was that not all product prices were updated instantly when our sale launched — it actually took almost ten minutes for all of our products to update (likely because we had a lot of SKUs). Our sales are quite time-sensitive and a lot of customers were waiting right at launch to shop, but other than this the app worked pretty well for what we needed it to do.

Love this app for an easy way to bulk discount without requiring the use of a Promo Code. Essential for Black Friday or big discounting events! Since allowing only 1 promo code per purchase is built into Shopify we have to get creative with ways to allow discounts, shop credit/gift card redemption, and rewards points. This has been a really helpful app and easy to use!
I would love to see a Buy X, Get Y promo option added at some point!

One of the things I love about this app is the ability to change the selling price after an item is on sale and have the app restore the regular price to the correct new value when the sale ends. In an industry where pricing can change often this saves me countless hours every time a sale ends. A previous competitors app meant that I had to manually edit hundreds of price changes after the sale ended. It also activates quickly once started.

This app worked perfectly to handle our daily holiday season sales. What we particularly liked was that since this app actually changes product prices in the store (as opposed to just being a discount applied at checkout), products that were targeted have a SALE banner (customizable), applied. Gives products that little bit of additional bait.

Also loved that discounts could be scheduled, saving us a ton of daily work. Great product, great tool.

The app created sales easily enough, but it is extremely glitchy. It would randomly turn on sale prices on certain items after a sale was ended, or it would fail to turn the sale prices off of select products within a sale group randomly.

Hopefully they can iron these kinks out, and then they may have a pretty functional app in future.

Also didn't like that I couldn't edit the products I wanted in a sale using a CSV. It made creating the sales much too slow.

**UPDATED REVIEW** I previously left quite a harsh review as I was disappointed and frustrated why the app kept reverting sale prices back to original price. The support did try to fix the issue however it turns out this was an impossible and confusing task as it was our internal in-store POS system messing with Shopify's prices. If you run a bricks and mortar which is integrated with Shopify I recommend you be careful with running price altering apps or just have the two systems run separately. When the app worked for me it ran well and support were on hand promptly.

There are a lot of quirks with this app. You would expect to enter 40% in the discount field and it would calculate 40% off. Instead, it MULTIPLIES by .4, which is 60% off. I could get used to that, but then it applies an ADDITIONAL discount to the sale price if something is already on sale, rather than replacing the sale price. It also takes a long time to run with a database of nearly 10,000 products. The app might be fine if you can get used to it's quirky rules, but it was not for us. We literally sold some products at a loss before we realized what it was doing. Documentation also weak.

works well, but the recent update makes scheduling sales a real pain... still works but i wish they'd bring back the dropdown for the time. also, the ipad mobile version needs some work as its not as stable. (developers... keep in mind a LOT of small retailers are operating almost exclusively on ipads now, not desktops or laptops, and having to wait till I'm home to finish work is seriously stressful)

not sure if the new updated version still allows you to pick and choose select varients to discount, but it used to, though it was highly unstable except on the desktop version. that was HUGELY helpful, though needed to be reliable in ipad too.

THe folks at SpurIT provide excellent support. I had some issues getting set up (with proper display of sale prices) and they quickly and efficiently custom coded a solution so that the prices appear as they should. They were so friendly and sweet-- great to work with. In addition, this app is beautifully set up and easy to use. I started with their competitor's app because it was less expensive, but it just didn't work right and was so buggy. The last thing I need is an app that bugs out when I am trying to set up for a big sale! I love it so far, and think it's a great way to schedule and list sales in my shop! I'll be keeping this one!

The App doesn't work. I paid for their annual $299.50 plan and I verified that payment went through via Shopify and in their own app, and they are asking for an additional $18.95/mo to upgrade to use the basic features of the app. I did go into their chat for help and sent them screenshots of the payments that I made and asked for help. But they are unable to help and claim that my payment was "canceled" when I can see that the payment went through in their app, via Shopify, and via my bank statement all of which I provided to them. At this point, I've paid $299.50 for an app that I can't use. I'm forced to update my sale pricing myself which means I'm out of the Time and Money this app promised. WORST APP EVER!
