Great product, great support, and flexible development!
I provide the so-called Try Before You Buy service. My business model is a process like this;
The customer pays a rental fee to try the product, and if the customer decides to purchase it after the trial period, the customer pay the remaining balance, and if the customer does not purchase it, the customer returns it to my store.
Before using Downpay, I provided this TBYB service through a partial payment app. The risk of theft is always present, and several stolen transactions have actually occurred. I started looking for an alternative app and found Downpay.
As a result, Downpay was a great app for me.
Downpay can split a customer's payment. The customer promises to pay the full amount at the time of the first payment, only pays the down payment, and I can collect the remaining balance at my convenience.
We can make multiple down payment groups. Define a down payment group and select which products belong to that group. I have created more than 10 groups. It would be nice to be able to manage more easily.
By using pre-authorization, we can ensure that the remaining balance is collected. This is a big advantage over partial payment apps. Please note that the authorization period is 7 days (168 hours).
Also, the development cycle is fast. Hypehound always listens to customer feedback and actively incorporates it into Downpay. I feel that they value app users very much.
I restarted my TBYB service by Downpay and am currently satisfied. The risk of theft is greatly reduced.
It has also increased sales by making the purchasing process clearer for customers.
If you prodive TBYB that charges a trial fee like mine, Downpay is the best app I think.
Lastly, Diana provided excellent support. I really appreciate her. And thank you for providing the world with such a wonderful app!
I have been using Downpay for a few months, It has been great to be able to take final payments for products with out bothering our customers. We have several unique challenges with our product and the support team has been there to expertly customize the integration when ever needed. They are based in Canada and have perfect communication skills. Support goes above and beyond to rectify issues with genuine concern for your stores success. I would recommend The app! 5 Stars!

The support offered by Diana has been exceptional. She even went to the lengths of recording a video of on-screen actions to show us how to create a solution that was causing us a headache. The app itself allows us to take a deposit in a way that no others could, and removes accounting problems that other apps create by trying to short-cut the manner in which the deposit is dealt with. We have very particular requirements in the way in which the remaining balance is to be taken and Downpay/Diana have allowed us to find a way to do this.
The ability to offer deposit and pay-later options has not only increased my sales but also improved customer satisfaction. The setup was straightforward, and the app works flawlessly with Shopify’s existing features. What really stands out is the customer service - Diana and her team are incredibly responsive and helpful. Thank you!

Diana and her team are amazing. They are super responsive to any and all questions and are really on top of things. The app works amazing as well! I was looking for an app to get a partial payment up front and have the customer pay the remaining later (basically a deposit system) and Downpay does just that. If you need an app to handle the deposit for you look no further!
Everything is very easy to use, and the customer service is very quick and efficient! Had questions about customers changing their second deferred payment method, and the resolution was so simple! Love this app!
I have never come across any app support as helpful as Diana from Downpay - 10/10! Its a brilliant app, but what makes it amazing for me is the team.
The app was fairly easy to setup. I had a few issues with how to take payments but I sent a chat request to their app team and Diana responded within minutes. She offered me some great options and even found a bug in my store that was causing the problem. No app is perfect but awesome customer service makes all things work out in the end. Diana and Dennis are that awesomeness.
Haven't had much use of the app yet but the support team is fantastic! Had an issue that the team was able to resolve quickly and with great communication. Great app for anyone looking for a way to take deposits.
