Spectacular support service.
I needed an app to add descriptions to my tour packages configured as variants and this app has integrated perfectly with my booking app. In addition, the support has configured me, thanks Mircea, the use of tabs in the descriptions so that the information comes out more organized.

This app solved one of the biggest drawbacks with Shopify not natively supporting the use of variant metafields. Mircea went above and beyond to customize the app to our specific needs, and did so with a lighting fast response time, answering any questions we had along the way. I highly recommend Sections Design and their full suite of apps including Variant Description OMG to anyone looking for a code free solution with robust customization for managing product variant metafields and more.
It's good, but could be better. Doesn't seem to integrate well with Shopify CSV import, when you want to edit a selection of products (of which we have quite a few) also a back-up/undo/"revert to previous version" feature would be really useful. These adding extras would make it more value for money. Otherwise considering the lack of these type of apps, this is a good app.

The Shopify CSV import only imports products, not variant descriptions. This is how Shopify works. But if you need bulk CSV functionality we have a solution. Please contact us at support@typefolly.zendesk.com and I can help you out.
There is an undo function. Our editor works just like the native Shopify one. You can undo just as in any editor using Ctrl + Z. If you want to revert to the initial product description, just delete the variant description. It is as simple as that. Please reach out to us. I am happy to help you!
I was struggling with getting my metadata to update when the selected variant (color) changed. A page reload was always required. This app solved the issue immediately.

I've used Variant Description for few days (https://www.frenchpresscoffee.com/). Very simple to install and use. Really helpful if you have multiply products variants. Writing unique descriptions for each variant improves overall shopping experience for the customer. Highly recommend this app.

While the product description can be changed according to the options, the option name can also be added after the product name above.

App did exactly what it promised - I was able to quickly add unique part of product description for each product variant. Customer service was fantastic, they extended app functionality for our site even further.
