Fairly easy to set up, worked as expected. Sounds trivial, but that's a huge deal in todays vast ecosystem of 'apps' and add-ons. The support has been spot on, attentive, and incredibly helpful. We've only been using the solution for a brief period of time, but anticipate making this an integral part of our future product launch strategies.
Early bird has worked great for our two online stores - as we both make to order, and hold stock, we needed a way to show the customer what was "made to order" and available for immediate shipping, which Early Bird does perfectly.

Fantastic app for back in stock notifications to customers, as well as managing pre-orders and back-orders! The customer service team is also incredibly helpful and knowledgable. Highly recommend!!

We needed an app that could help us handle partial payments for add-on products along with the main product. Since we weren’t familiar with how different apps worked, we reached out to several app support teams to understand whether their solutions could meet our needs.
Early Bird: Preorder & Restock stood out the most. With other apps, we had to wait at least a day for a response, and even then, the replies were often vague and didn’t really address our questions. In contrast, Josiah, the co-founder of Early Bird, got back to us almost immediately. Not only was he quick to respond, but he also took the time to understand our business needs and offer a solution that made sense for us.
When running a business, having responsive and helpful support makes a big difference, and Jo went the extra mile to ensure we fully understood how the app works and how it meets our business needs, especially in terms of customer experience.

Brilliant app, easy to use, and the customer service is above and beyond. The sales were instant from the first day we started our first campaign. Three campaigns in and the sales have been great We have had zero negative feedback from any of our customers, so they've also found it clear and simple to use. I'm very excited to see what we can achieve going forward with this app, in terms of back in stock notifications and preorders. Wish I'd found it sooner.

I am a small fashion label based in Brisbane Australia, it was so exciting to see a fellow Brisbane business! So beyond grateful the the fantastic customer service that came alongside downloading Early Bird, they helped me integrate it into my store and answered any and all questions I had. They went above and beyond! Could not recommend a better download!!!
It will let the customer purchase into zero and negative amounts without indicating that any purchase of an item when the inventory goes from zero or below will be a backorder. Basically, if a product has an inventory of 1 it will allow the customer to purchase 4, in a single order, without indicating that 3 will be a backorder. The customer is left unaware that 3 items are not in stock, and we the merchants are stuck dealing with this. They require you to check "continue selling when out of stock" to enable the backorder function but did not take into account going zero or below in inventory on a single purchase. Not to mention Google lists your products in stock when inventory is zero or below because of the "continue selling when out of stock" requirement to use the backorder function.

For other merchants reading this, the ability to sell beyond available inventory is a Shopify platform behaviour tied to the "Continue selling when out of stock" setting, which is required for back-orders.
Unfortunately, Shopify doesn’t natively provide a way to automatically alert customers when they add to cart or at checkout when part of their order will be back-ordered.
That said, we recognize this isn’t an ideal customer experience, so we've immediately researched potential workarounds and put together a help centre article.
One of the most straightforward workarounds is many Shopify themes have built-in stock counters that can help set some expectations for customers about the available inventory before they place an order.
We're more than happy to help enable this for their store when they are ready.

Great app, and probably the best customer service from an app representative that we have ever had. Jay got everything we wanted up and running super quickly and was amazingly helpful.
Early Bird fitted the use case I had perfectly. It can handle out of stock requests but more importantly for us, it allowed me to target individual products and create campaigns to build pre sales. I had full control over how this worked and the customer support is second to none. We have been using Shopify and associated apps for 6 years now and Early Bird have been one of the best to date. Highly Recommend.
