I got in contact with Andy who helped me setup the app and explained the basics. I'm used to building websites, but understanding the basics are really important, and this saved me a lot of time to get going!
Finally a nice page builder for Shopify!
I tried Ecomposer and it convinced me to use it in 30 minutes. Editor works smoothly and loading speed is fast, library of many beautiful layouts helps save time on buying other Shopify themes. I can even combine sections in different layouts to have a layout of my own quickly.
Misleading to say that on the Free plan you can publish '3 Live Pages' with 'All Elements' - when in truth simple things like custom fonts are a paid feature. I only found out after investing time learning the UI and feel it's been a waste of time.

I can relate to your feeling that you may just want to have a couple of pages with custom fonts and not ready to pay. We will consider to open Custom font in free plan in the near time.
