[HumanPresence] Shop Protector

This was previously a 5-star review. Now it's a cautionary tale. I suspect that something has changed at the company that produces this app, because our recent experience has been terrible, and our early experiences were quite positive.

For a long time, this app seemed to block all spam registrations, but recently, we realised we were receiving hundreds of them, and that they seemed not to be blocked out.

I reached out to support, and that's where things really went badly. The support agent was extremely unhelpful. He constantly suggested that there must be another registration form that we're not telling them about. This is rather ridiculous, given that protection was working previously, and that they should have technology to be able to detect what registration forms we have.

After a dozen back and forth messages, the situation went from bad to worse. At some point, I realised that they had actually disabled our registration form entirely. It seemed that real users couldn't register, but yet spam bot registrations continue to trickle in.

Not only is this app no longer working, the customer service was just a waste of time.

I would recommend against installing this app, and I would be hesitant to give their agents access to your store.

Great app if your store is experiencing a lot of bots and spam. It has worked wonders for us and our site.

Before I purchased Shop Protector I had dozens of Spam emails every day. It has now been about three weeks since I started with Shop Protector and I have not received ANY Spam emails through my Shopify account. Thank you!!!!!

Unnecessary app that is impossible to remove. App support require access to your account to rectify. Very concerning.

Had a bit of trouble with the install at first but since installed no spam bots have registered on the site! Happy with this app so far!

I think they're being inundated with new folks due to the fake customer account setup issue. I see that my customer setup forms & contact forms are now protected - thank you!

Bots started opening fake customer accounts on our store in December. I called Shopify for help, and the rep I spoke with recommended the Shop Protector app. Installation was easy, but bots were still setting up fake accounts. I contacted the app developers and they were very helpful. Apparently, there was some error in the automatic protection that caused our customer form to not get protected properly, but they worked their magic and everything works great! No more fake bot accounts :)

Great app and support service. Started using Shop Protector last month due to a large number of fake accounts, seems to be working well!

I was receiving over 10-15 spam registrations and messages per day. Got this app implemented with awesome help from their technical team, and now NO spam at all. Highly recommend!

I was getting 10-20 new profiles created daily. It was frustrating because I didn't know who was real and who was a bot. Anyway, using this app has stopped the bot spam and I'm no longer getting the fake profiles. Totally worth the service.
