This star rating is for the Basic plan. Read to end of review for notes on my brief experience with the Plus plan when it was a new product. 5 stars for Basic plan! It blocks bots from using the Contact and New Customer registration forms, and eliminated all of my fake new customer registrations and 95% of my fake contact form use. It can't block 100% because some bots will have cached the old form pages and use those for a year or more. But it will stop new bot use of the forms, and eventually old forms cached by bots will be refreshed. I discontinued use of the Plus plan in December 2019, so my review doesn't cover any developments in the product since then. It was still a very new product at that time. The Plus plan has order blocking features that interfered with Shopify's accelerated check outs that skip the check out page, such as Paypal Express. When I tried the Plus plan, it cancelled and refunded legitimate customer orders. Luckily for me, the Plus plan is more geared toward drop-shippers to stop reseller bots from buying out trending products -- not my business type, so not something I need. Also, Human Presence personnel and customer support are extremely responsive to customer communication.

This is one of those apps that you just install, configure, and essentially forget about. It just works and keeps more spam from reaching my inbox.

I am a new user of Shop Protector and what a relief to finally not have to spend hours of wasted time deleting bogus customers. I was getting blasted with up to 50 useless, annoying and potentially damaging bogus customers per day. Deleting them was painfully slow and tedious. I was sceptical I could get this fixed since Shopify seems to have abandoned its customers for any help in this regard but decided to try Shop Protector and voila, an instant solution! I am a micro store and as the sole employee I do everything and wasting valuable time clearing up annoyances was a time-waster, now removed from my "to do list" every day! Shop Protector and Pillowpacker Inflatable Travel Pillows are now pals for life!

This is an awesome app with great support and really stop spam in its track; you will literally see the difference almost immediately once its setup correctly.
In that, previously we were being inundated with spam customer accounts, signing up to also receive newsletters. This was quite disruptive to our business process, as we had to be spending extra time cleaning out the spam emails in between the real emails from our mailing list; that was taking time away from focusing on our real customers. So we had to address this issue quickly before it overwhelmed us.
However, at first when I installed it, I was able to click the option to automatically protect most of the forms on the spot which was really cool. But there was one form that the app couldn’t update automatically, that it warned us about. And after following the instructions and trying to update it myself, I couldn’t find some of the sections in the theme that the guide made reference to, that we needed to update as well; since we have a more custom website.
So to ensure we covered all our bases, I reached out to support with a quick email explaining where I got stumped and asked them to help us with the setup, as well as, just verify the other forms I already auto-protected were good as well. And support was extremely quick in helping us get fully setup and since then we had zero issues with spam; its unbelievable but it works hands-down.
So this is a must have for every shop having spam issues, I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks so much Will and team.

The customer service is incredible with this app. I required some further information about the app before installation and Will was great in detailing how this will protect our website. After installation Will then followed up to ensure we were protected and made some tweaks to get full protection. Highly recommend this app!

We had a spam bot attack where 9000 new fake customer accounts were created over a period of only a few days and these had to be checked and manually all deleted, nightmare! That's when we found the shopprotector app who kindly did the set up to protect all our vulnerable pages and we haven't had even one fake account created since. Small monthly fee to pay to avoid these sudden attacks so we'd highly recommend ShopProtector.

I usually do not leave reviews on Shopify apps but I think it would be great to help get the word out to other shop owners that is facing the same dilemma. I was getting very stressed out due to so many spam sign-ups. However, despite paying for several options to fix the issue (including hiring a developer) with no success…it was a great relief to find Ellipsis Human Presence that actually works. Now with the spam eliminated, we can refocus our energies on other aspects of the business that need our attention.
