We recently switched to ethos after struggling with our loyalty program before, and the difference has been huge. Setup was quick and the platform is really easy to use. We especially love how simple it is to run contests, giveaways, and polls. It’s helped us engage with customers while learning more about them at the same time. In just two weeks we added 54 new members to the program. Maddie and the team were also amazing during setup and answered all of our questions quickly. Highly recommend!
We are committed to being community-led but, like most start-ups, we have to balance budget or capacity restraints when it comes to hosting events. Ethos has helped bridge that gap by helping us connect with our community online. The biggest value we’ve seen so far:
- a central hub to engage with our community
- the ability to reward our early adopters for in their input and loyalty
- the ability to collect, share and reward authentic ugc from people who actually love the product and what we're building
- avoiding the hail mary approach of advertised discounts to attract new customers

Best loyalty platform we’ve used (and we’ve tried a few)
We’ve tested multiple loyalty and referral apps over the years, and Ethos is the first one that actually feels like it was built for modern DTC brands.
What stands out immediately is how complete the platform is. It’s not just points and referrals. You can run tiers, exclusive access, UGC, contests, and more all in one place. It replaced several tools for us, which simplified our stack and saved cost.
Setup was straightforward, but the real differentiator is the team. Their onboarding and ongoing support is hands-on in a way you don’t typically get with Shopify apps. They’re proactive, responsive, and actually think with you on strategy, not just implementation. That alone makes a big difference.
From a retention standpoint, it gives you way more flexibility to build something that actually matches your brand instead of a generic points program. The customization and ability to create a premium experience is a huge unlock.
If I had to give one piece of feedback, it would be that like any robust platform, there’s a lot you can do. You need to be intentional about how you design your program so it doesn’t get overcomplicated.
Overall, Ethos feels less like an app and more like a retention partner. If you’re serious about LTV and building a brand-driven loyalty experience, it’s a no-brainer.
