This is the worst integration app on shopify, literally a minefield to workout i have been trying to get shop linked to my instragram account and that has been a pain! first if you do not have a facebook page dont even bother. Even when you do create one you are restricted so whats the point. I have sent all documents i can muster and still restricted. Fix it!!!

This is one of the grand examples not to use 3rd party apps.
The Instagram & Facebook integration for Shopify is incredibly complicated to use. There is basically no support - you can talk to Meta Pro Agents that work overseas, they're lovely and try their best but they don't have enough permissions to actually resolve any issues. They can only raise a case for follow up with what they call their "internal team".
It seems that this app requires a Meta Business verification, which takes up to 4 weeks to process. It needs a verified Instagram account and a verified Facebook page. The Shopify app asks for some business documents and states that shops are validated within 2 business days.
Our shop has been repeatedly rejected, even though the Meta Business Manager indicated that we check all the boxes to be approved for the Shopify integration. Contacting support renders the standard and equally useless info that we don't qualify to be approved. They don't tell you why, which is very frustrating. It took us weeks to figure out, that we have to verify our Meta Business Manager first.
One agent even told us our Instagram account didn't have enough posts and we should just keep posting and see what happens. Ridiculous.
Writing this we're still not approved even though the process is ongoing for quite some time now and we've been talking to five different agents.
What adds to the confusion is that Meta Business needs personal Facebook accounts to manage Facebook pages and Instagram accounts. If you're more than one manager it just messes everything up because different people end up with different permissions. Even once everyone has full permissions for everything they don't properly sync accounts. When logging in with our Instagram account the set cookie prevents us from logging into the business manager. We have to clear cache, use incognito mode or a different browser.
It's beyond comprehension that a company like Meta is unable to provide a smooth, SIMPLE integration with substantial support for their business customers.
GOOGLE is my baseline and I compare everything to them: simple integrations and if things don't work out an amazing, FAST and HELPFUL customer service.

What's the point? I try to connect via Shopify to Facebook utilising this ad. I have attempted so many times that I am uninstalling once again in order to see if that will fix the issue but I will not hold my breath!
This is not a rare problem but attempting to rectify as an end user & store owner has a massive impact on business and the working day.

Like many others who have reported the same issue with this app from Shopify in the Community forum and 1* review comments, our Facebook account was restricted within minutes of installing. We only required it to set up our pixel. We now cannot advertise at all with Facebook or Instagram. I have taken the necessary steps Facebook request to review our account but, due to COVID, it states there are delays. As a wedding business severely impacted by current COVID regulations in the UK, this is disastrous for us. Sarah on Shopify Support chat tried her best to help but said Shopify cannot escalate issues to Facebook which is disappointing considering Shopify's app caused the issue for us and others. I would have expected the Shopify app developers to be able to resolve issues directly with Facebook rather than leave it to their clients to resolve with Facebook. Our only option is hope Facebook review our appeal soon... or that Shopify step in and take ownership.
Thank you for sharing your feedback and taking the time to leave a review. Merchant feedback is incredibly valuable to us as we continue to update our apps and platforms to best suit our merchants needs. While Shopify does not have a hand in the decision making process for restricted Facebook accounts, I will be following up via email to see if there is any further support you require while you wait for Facebook to get back to you. - Veena, Shopify Support
For some reason there know for always restricting your account and won't be Able to run ads because of this.

The worst Support team I've ever been in contact with. They all ask the same stuff, never read what your actual Query is, all they know how to do is to tell you "Send a Screencast, send your email and number" they make you repeat your Issue OVER AND OVER , then they connect you to a different operator each time, so again you'll REPEAT your Query, only for them to give you NO SOLUTION. I contact them 5+ times for a simple issue.

This app's integration with Facebook, for us and many other shop owners (see https://community.shopify.com/c/Shopify-Discussion/Facebook-followers-seeing-posts-quot-Shop-name-added-an-item-to/m-p/959267/highlight/true#M210402) is broken. It will periodically for no reason make a post to your store saying a new item was added to your shop, even if the product has been in the shop forever. It makes your facebook shop look deceiving to your customers. We and many others have contacted Shopify and they say it's Facebook's fault and apparently don't have a fix.
Thanks for sharing your feedback! We deeply appreciate your patience for this reply. The issue that you've described stems from a setting within your Facebook notifications. Meaning, this occurs entirely on Facebook without any relationship to our app. The way you would solve this is to go to your Business Page Settings > Page Updates > click on Edit > and turn off post notifications so that they don't automatically update every change. This should resolve your feed issue. Thank you! - Abdalla, Shopify Support
I Am not even attempting this complicated tedious set up after reading these reviews. It seems like no one in the chat really wants to help either. They just send you tutorials. Well, I could have done that myself. Waste of money.

I am having nothing but problems using the direct integration feature that is supposed to directly connect my Shopify store to my Facebook and Instagram. Although the items are saying they are visible in Shopify, FB and Insta, they do not show on either of the profile. And they are active.
