Works pretty well although when I have users from the US it says "looks like you're in the US. Change to AUD$." It should be USD not AUD. My store currency is in GBP.

Makes loading website very slowly, following console errors shows always up: script.js?shop=......myshopify.com:3 Failed to execute 'postMessage' on 'DOMWindow': The target origin provided ('https://geolocation-recommendations.shopifycloud.com') does not match the recipient window's origin ('https://...').

This should be a very good, simple and functional app but in common with several other reviewers the fact that you cannot customise the pop-up text drives us mad. It cannot be that difficult to do. We are trialling the Markets feature which is a big Shopify initiative and screams out the need to support simple, intuitive country selection. We are UK-based with a US warehouse but the popup text says "ships to US". Our own customers are saying this is off-putting as it logically implies we are not in the US (meaning potentially higher shipping costs or delivery times). All we need is the ability to state "looks like you're in the US" and a button saying "stay here" or "yes please". Many other reviewers make the same point. We've raised this with Shopify Support, to no avail. It's such a shame. Come on guys, finish the app!

Hmm. So within shopify settings you set which countries you ship to. The issue with geolocation app is that it doesnt integrate with those settings. this means that customers located in countries that you do not ship to will see the geolcation selector pop up (when enabled) that says "we ship to your country" when in fact the merchant does not. The customer will only find out that you do not once they waste their time and proceed to checkout to then have the shopify settings inform them that you do not ship to their location. Then you get angry customer support requests asking "why say you do when you dont". It seems logical that the geolocation app should consider your shopify shipping settings relating to shipping locations before it shows information to the customer. This seems like a half cooked solution.

Geolocation will only ever show the popup for countries that you ship to. If this isn't happening to you please contact us and we can help you sort this out.

I love the idea of the geolocation app but it has two major issues that confuse my customers:
1. The pop up is in English so French customers (for example) who do not speak English have no idea what that pop up is about and miss out on the opportunity to see my shop in Euros.
2. The currency switcher is impossible to find: at the bottom of the the home page, and only on the home page. It makes no sense, people will start wonderign about their currency once they are on product pages. How can we expect them to go back to the bottom of the home page to switch their currency. I would definitely re-install geolocation app if:
1. Especially if the currency switcher was visible at the top of the shop. 2. Additionally, it woudl be great if the pop up adapted its language to the location of the customers

Hi there, thanks for your feedback! Please feel free to contact us about how your customers are not seeing the pop up in their local language - this should not be happening. Provided you have French enabled as a language within your France market, even when visitors land on your English domain, the popup should appear in French.

Because Geolocation does not add any code into your theme, it's not possible for us to reliably place the selectors in the header of your page. You can continue to use the pop up recommendation, and have selectors built into your theme header directly: https://shopify.dev/tutorials/customize-theme-support-multiple-currencies

First why the popup works only "sometimes" ? And why the language selector is on the footer ? Finally, this app is useless. The only solution to get an multi-language boutique is to pay an app (and it's about 29$ / month).

Hi there, thanks for your review. To clarify, the Geolocation app does not translate your store for you - it redirects people to the right language based on what you have configured in your Markets.

i dont like the big shopify logo that i cannot change. i tried changing languages but i didnt see any change.

Works if your needs are very basic and you don't mind the very rudimentary styling, but causes problems in a country like Finland where most people have browser language as English but still would like to browse the site in Finnish. Better targeting settings based on country etc. would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks so much for your feedback! I see where you are coming from and this is a tricky balance. Ultimately browser language is the strongest signal for what a buyer prefers to shop in, but acknowledge this may not cover all cases. This is why we allow manual language selection if the customer does want to browse in another language or country.
