I can't even set up coupons for my affiliates so none of them have discount codes they can use with their followers

You can set coupons in the Coupons page. You can also enable Automatic coupons to be generated and assigned to each affiliate when they register.

So Far I like how smoothly everything is working, It took very little time to set things up and everything was very well guided. 1 Suggestion, it would be nice to have an Announcement Space where we can share News with our affiliates.
Maybe it's there and I have yet to discover.

You can do announcements in two ways.
1. Send newsletter to your affiliates using the Quick Email feature
2. Add a new page in the affiliate dashboard and update it when you have new things to announce. To add a new page use the Settings -> Branding > Affiliate Dashboard - edit page option

I don't know why I have almost 30 affiliates who have signed up, but up till now nobody uses it yet?
Gives a very simple and easily understandable step-by-step set up. I'm glad went for this one as it is the first time I use an affiliate app.
