I just set up the app and it was easy and quick. I am excited to see what it does and how it works.

I have just begin to use it, so I stil do not have a conclusion about how it works, but as soon as possible i will give my opinion.

I've been using the app since earlier this year when I created my store. I didn't run into many issues other than the occasional missing gtin or a product being disapproved. I sorted it all out, 100% of my products were approved and only several were not (only for dynamic retargeting). Fast forward several months later, I go to check on my products in the google merchant center and I see that my account has been suspended due to: Misrepresentation.

I thought maybe this happened because I ran into a issue with Shopify that same day where it said I had to add a CAA record to my domain. But nope, I do not think so. The account suspension reason that google provided is vague. It lists many possibilities why my account could have been suspended but not THE reason. So, I honestly do not know why. I tried to message google to see if I could get an explanation but the only thing, I got in return was automated responses linking their misrepresentation policy.

I decided to search for user experience regarding the issue and behold I found nothing but nightmare stories. Most users seemed to have never gotten their issue resolved and gave up. Thus, leaving their account suspended forever.

The strange thing is that my account was perfectly fine for five months straight. I didn't change anything, only added, or removed products. Then out of nowhere I get this. It's kind of sad. I'm not sure if I will be able to use the google and YouTube app ever again. And for a reason I'm not even aware of.

I'm a small business and it's a nightmare to have to deal with automation repeatedly and left in the dark about alleged issues. It seems like it might be impossible to fight issues such as this.

My Account with them got suspended for "misrepresentation". All of the other sellers have been correct and it has been a lousy experience trying to get your business out there and having been flagged. So stupid. Will not recommend.

It is simple to use and it guides you all the way. I have created a Campaign with them for the first time and I found it easier others that I have used

nightmare to work with. could not intelligently sync data between shopify and google. manual work. errors. bugs everywhere on this app. awful.
no support from folks on the merchant account.

of course i removed it!

Update 12/5/2019: Shopify support reached out to me directly after I posted this review. They did a complimentary review of my setup and let me know that everything was set correctly on my end. They said it takes 14 full days for Google to "learn" your products and to figure out the best placement for conversions. Seeing no activity during this period is normal.

We are now 21 days into the campaign and we're starting to see activity from it (sessions, adds to cart, etc). It appears that it was working correctly this whole time which really goes to emphasise the importance of improving the user interface. I made a few suggestions to the support that reached out to me and he said he would pass them on to the developers. I really hope they do because this is a valuable marketing channel and could be a great tool if it were more user friendly.

For example, there is nothing telling the user that this learning period is underway. It just says "active" and "running" which is not accurate. Adding to the frustration is the fact that you have to dedicate a portion of your marketing budget to it- In my case $5/day (or $150/mo) which is not a small amount.

I am updating this review from 1 star to 3 stars because it does work.. The user interface is just severely lacking.

I really hate leaving negative reviews but I think this app needs to be completely overhauled. I fumbled through the setup and after some trial and error got most of my products to get accepted by google (48 out of 51). After this, I tried setting up a paid campaign with a starting budget of $5 a day. The campaign has been "active" and apparently running since November 14th and in these 7 days, there has been zero activity and I'm honestly not even sure if they're actually running. I have had really good success on Google adwords campaigns as well as Facebook campaigns but really zero activity in 7 days? It seems like something is wrong with the campaign but there is no way for me to diagnose it inside the app. Everything just says active, accepted, and running. This app lacks intuitiveness and navigating through the setup and maintenance is very cumbersome. Most of these positive reviews look fake if you read through them, so I'm not sure if the developers even care to improve it. Sad because this would be a great marketing tool if it worked!

Google Smart Shopping campaigns that are created within the Shopify admin require up to 15 days for Google to learn and optimize your products and audience.
