GOVX ID Exclusive Discounts

GOVx has been a great partner to better serve our community of first responders, veterans and other government employees. They provide a seamless service for these customers to receive a great discount but also provide a great bump in revenue for us whenever we run a promotion with one of their marketing campaigns. Having GOVx as a partner has been a win-win for everyone involved!

As a hunting apparel company, many of our customers are veterans, active military and first responders/LEO. GovX has been an excellent partner by connecting us with their larger community and allowing our existing customers an easy way to verify and access our Military discount. The Shopify App is excellent, easy to install and can go live in minutes. We also have a dedicated CSM when we have questions or opportunities to explore. Highly recommend!

I do like the ease of installation and how it allows me to control discounts on my Shopify store. That said, that's where the honeymoon ends.
Issues:
1. When selling through GovX, their minimum discount and % cut of all sales basically kills my profitability. The nutritional supplement industry that I am in has tight margins to start, and if I give GovX users their minimum discount of 20% plus their 15% fee I'm actually LOSING money selling through them. Not to mention, I already eat a portion of the shipping costs for customers, so it's a big NO from me there.
2. Verification for my Shopify store. While I appreciate GovX handling the verification so that I do not have to persnally deal with sensitive identification information, what I have found is that almost anyone can secure a GovX account even if they DID NOT serve! I have several of my customers that I know personally, who have used the discount. I know that they did not serve, nor did their spouse. I asked one of the customers about it and it's a well known workaround evidently on the internet on how to secure it. I am getting the shaft because people who did not EARN the discount are using it. I'm having to discontinue Military and Veteran discounds because of this.
Do better GovX

I love having this option to provide a discount to the people that do so much for their fellow humans! It makes it so quick and easy. I've only had to contact support once and it wasn't even a problem that was on their end, but they were able to help me figure out the issue. They were very quick to respond and very nice. Highly recommend this app!

We'd been just taking people's word for it that they were military or veterans etc, but having a mechanism to verify gives us a lot of confidence we're not being taken advantage of. Edit; we've now been using GovX for several months and we love it. Their support has been fantastic and we can't say enough goo things about them. We generate a lot of sales with this app and our only wish is that they could also cover Canada as there is nothing comparable in Canada.
