There is growing consumer consciousness of carbon footprints and we are seeing increased motivations to give back and ‘make a difference’. As sustainability and carbon neutrality rise in the global agenda, businesses will be obligated to offset their consumer footprint. We also understand that businesses want to embrace this, however for many, tackling sustainability can feel out of reach. Options out there entail huge time commitments or significant financial investments without much return on investment or positive brand implications.

Offsettr by Greenr provides a simple and inexpensive way to give your customers the chance to carbon offset part (or all) of their purchase from your store.

How does it work?

1. Download the Offsettr App by Greenr.
2. After installing the app, add a carbon offset and you'll see that it appears as new product in the store.
3. This then needs to be made available on the sales channels.
4. Update the cart theme with the new product.
5. Add a product and buy an offset
6. See how the app usage fees go up to match the product.

Offsettr then charges a usage fee for each product added (paid by the consumer). The offset income goes into the store's Shopify account and is taken out on a monthly basis by Shopify.
