How it Works
The Happy Birthday app allows you to collect customer birthdays in a number of different ways:
1) A Birthday sign-up form will appear on the order status page after every successful purchase where customers can enter their date of birth
2) A Birthday Sign-up Page is available for you to collect birthday sign-ups from previous customers and from new visitors to your store.
3) Our Shopify POS widget allows you to ask Customers to sign-up to your Birthday Club after a successful checkout in-store.
4) We have a MailChimp sync available so that you can collect birthdates via your existing MailChimp newsletter sign-up forms.
If you've collected customer birthdays outside of Shopify, you can choose to import that data using our data upload feature.
Customers will then receive an email from you on or before their birthday. You can choose to send a simple custom birthday greeting, or choose to include a unique “single usage” discount code for your store.
Our analysis shows that Merchants using our Happy Birthday App are achieving an average email open rate of 60%, click through rates of 10% and conversion rates of around 5%.

I used this app to collect customers' birthdays and send them a discount. Works perfectly. Does what it's supposed to do. Easy to customize. I needed some fields translated because the default language is English but my store is in Spanish, so I contacted customer support and they did it speedily and kindly. Would recommend.

Initially I had issues with the integration between Shopify, HBD, and SMSBump. However, both SMSBump and HBD worked to get it squared away. It appears to be working now. I still have a few more questions that need to be answered and I will update the review if all is well.
