Similar to a previous review, during the initial call you are told you can make customizations and all the great features when in reality, there is very little customization you can do. The on-boarding team is really unhelpful and not knowledgeable of their own product. The on-boarding team member we were set up with could not answer any of the questions we had and we had to follow-up several times to receive responses. Setting up Happy Returns took several weeks of back and forth which was incredibly frustrating. This solution will work for now as it is free with PayPal but definitely not a long term solution.

Although the service dashboard provides a quick overview of returns for customers and staff, it lacks some fundamental features that would make it great. One major issue is that you can't edit, archive, or cancel an existing return, which can be problematic.

Suppose a customer requests a return, but then realizes they made a mistake or changes their mind. In that case, you can't modify the existing return, and you have to start a new one, leaving the old one sitting in the system indefinitely.

This lack of functionality can cause confusion and miscommunication, especially when different people are handling returns and talking to customers. For example, if a customer initially requested a refund but then wants to exchange the item, you need to create a duplicate return in the system. However, if the customer accidentally used the paperwork for the refund instead of the exchange, your return department may issue a refund instead of an exchange, leading to upset customers and extra work for customer service representatives.

To avoid such issues, it would be helpful to have a way to archive/hide a return in the admin or mark it as canceled, even if it doesn't change anything on the Shopify side. Additionally, there's no way to pre-set actions for a return, such as waiving the return processing fee. Instead, you can only enter notes into the return and hope that the rep who processes the return sees them. During busy periods like the holidays, this can become a significant problem. Therefore, adding such functionality would be a great improvement to the service.

In summary: It is great for a solopreneur or stores with a return volume too low to warrant a more robust system.

Wonderful returns app, especially considering the new pricing model for merchants accepting PayPal! Meets most of our needs. Features I would love to see in the future include:
- Support for the Cainiao within Order Tracking, as this is the primary global courier for dropshipping.
- The ability to approve or deny return requests based on customers' return reason (i.e. approve "arrived damaged," but deny "I didn't like it").

The system is goo dbut half of the time the app was down. customers complained about not being able to access returns page.

Terrible at getting you onboarded, did all the zoom calls and sold me the dream and now dont reply to emails, installed the app and been waiting 2 weeks to start using it..

Although the free service for pay pal stores is great, they recently instituted a $250.00 monthly minimum to utilize their return bar service which is what makes their process better than any of the others. They charge you per item when the customer drops off an item at one of the return bars which is fine but if you are not getting enough returns to get up to the $250.00 a month they bill you for the difference. Not great for all of us shopify new stores.

Very professional staff but unfortunately the app is so limited in features that we couldn't go ahead with this. The Paypal offer is appealing but not enough to lose key returns control we need.

We truly enjoy working with the Happy Returns team. The returns portal is simple and intuitive for our customers to use and the backend system is just as easy for the team. The new added customization features have been a big win. They make it easy by returning items in bulk and their support team responds quickly whenever we need them.

We used this app to quickly switch from a custom Returns app that was high cost, high maintenance. We immediately saw an increase in usability and customer satisfaction, and a decrease in customer support tickets regarding returns. Integration was as easy as it could be. the time to get up and running was stunning. The only thing that keeps this from being a five start review is the limitations around some customizations. because Happy Returns is designed to be used by any company, some customizations are impossible. Knowing these limitations, however, allows us to plan around and work with their wonderful support staff to come up with solutions that will work for us.
