I have tried this app. over and over again and I get so much spam. I received a porn message more than a few times left from my website chat and I receive a lot of people soliciting for business (to carry their products in my store) I don't know why this happens every single day, but it is too much to have to deal with. Gives me so much anxiety!

Thank you for writing your review and I am sorry to hear that you have been receiving these inappropriate and unwanted spam messages through Shopify Inbox. Unfortunately receiving these types of messages is always a possibility when you open up lines of communication with potential customers.

Currently only available as an online chat tool, the auto-reply feature is useless, it's very imperfect. Important point, please don't use "document.write()", Google pagespeed insights tell me that this is slowing down my site, and I can't optimize it

This is another app (like Shopify Email) that Shopify has released before it is very functional. There is a message to start the chat that you can't get rid of. My customers accidentally set it off and then give up and leave the app. Even the Shopify support person did the same thing.

I like the idea, but still needs improvement for android version. I would like to have the ability to set hours available for live chat (like facebook messenger) and, also, to be able to respond via computer, not just phone app.

There are some features that were not added in this initial first version of Shopify Ping for Android that we intend to incorporate in future updates. Features that are integrated into the iOS version of Ping such as sharing product pages, draft orders, discount codes, setting availability hours as you mentioned, as well as working with Kit, will be added in the future as we build upon Ping for Android. :)

I appreciate that this is a free app supplied by Shopify for which I am grateful. However, it has nearly no customization, notifications through Ping Android App are appallingly bad and inconsistent and so often I get messages but don't know until the customer has left. No time stamps on messages means you don't know whether customer left 1 minute ago, so might be able to recover via Email immediately or whether it was 1/2/3 hours before. Some of us SME owners are too busy at the moment to keep checking their phone just in case someone messaged. Am now looking at paid alternatives unfortunately.

Hello Ab Fab Textiles, thank you very much for this great feedback! This is exactly what we need to know in order to improve the app.

Customizing the Android version is something we are working on and will be releasing more features soon. It's a big request from merchants right now.

While time stamps are there for the day, they are not available for the hour - again, this is something we are working to release.

But I will also follow up with a personal email to you, as I think we can discuss this further. Please keep an eye on your inbox for an email from me.

Works well, however being tied to Ping and no translation strings available, this is still in beta. Let's wait few months.

Wanted to let you know that now the Chat widget and welcome message are now automatically translated to appear in the same language as your storefront. Hope that helps make Shopify Chat more effective for you.

Really slow, as others have said, and notifications of customer messages only come sporadically. I can check the inbox and clean everything out, then five minutes later check again and there will be a message a customer supposedly left hours ago. What the ---? That creates terrible customer service. I also can't figure out how to link a product into the message, even though the app store description says it can be done "easily." Like so many other "great ideas" Shopify has had lately, it seems hastily put together with little beta testing by actual users before release. (Shopify email ring a bell?)
