The ShopSwag chatbot on Kik is an automated personal shopping experience. Users answer a couple of questions about their personality and get custom product selections from a variety of merchants in return.

What is a chatbot?

Chatbots enable people to shop via messaging and text. You can check out this chatbot for yourself by downloading the Kik app on your mobile device. After you create your account, tap the “+” in the upper right corner of the screen, then tap “Discover bots.” Search for “ShopSwag” and follow the prompts to see how it all works for the user!

How it works for merchants

Do you sell items that are of interest (and appropriate for) teens? Then add this app! Items like apparel, footwear, accessories and beauty products are especially popular among this unique audience.

We get product submissions from hundreds of merchants and hand-pick the ones that we know this audience is going to love.

We can’t stress this enough: the primary audience for the ShopSwag bot on Kik = teenagers. Items that will not be approved:

NO - Anything alcohol-related

NO - High-end jewelry and watches (over $200)

Recommended price points

Products between $10 - $200 are great. Again, if you are a purveyor of high-end goods (e.g. items over $200), this is not the right app for your wares.

For now I am giving this app a 3 star since I just downloaded it and do not had any data to back up my experience. I'll update this review in a few months.
