Easy to install and use. A bit limited as to where you can place the ads. I am guessing because the app is new there will come more options eventually other than only the product page or cart.

However, there is still a big problem with Klarna as a payment service when using Shopify: ONLY customer that are from the same country as the Shopify store can actually use the Klarna payments. It's because they have to be using the same currency as the store.

So for example if someone from Norway tries to pay using Klarna in a Swedish Shopify store (that is using Swedish Krona as currency) they will not be able to complete the purchase, and instead get a message that "this payment option is not available" (without any further explanation why). This needs to be fixed.

Therefore this application is just confusing customers from other countries because Klarna actually doesn't work for them... Otherwise the app itself was nice and I'm excited to see more features! 4/5.

Alternative payment gateways, like the Klarna Payments gateways, are processed using a single currency: the store's base currency. While Klarna Payments can support many currencies, the Klarna order must be in the applicable currency for the customer's address. Great app.

Although it has 1 (local) minor issue: the currency symbol is shown after the slided price, which isn't the default location for our currency (€).

Is it possible to manually change this position? For example:

Current on-site message: Betaal in 3 delen van 43,00 €
Prefered on-site message: Betaal in 3 delen van € 43,00

Thanks for leaving a review on our on-site messaging app we really appreciate it.

Regarding you question if it is possible to manually change the messaging, that is not possible since we have chosen to align this on all of our European markets.
In most European countries the normal notation is to put the EUR sign after the price, I know that in the Netherlands this is done differently.
Therefore I will put in a request to see if this can be adjusted per market.

Thank you for your review. Depending on the settings in the app On-Site Messaging will show to customers located in the country that matches what is on your Klarna agreement used for the store. You can use for example VPN to simulate this. Checking your website now Klarna On-Site Messaging appears clearly using a US VPN, while when using a European VPN it would not which would be expected behaviour. If you have further feedback we would love to hear from you on merchant@klarna.com.

Hi, I am not getting any response from support please. Having issues with the application and no response. When trying to select a static page it only allows me to see a certain amount of pages in alphabetical order, and the search tool doesn't work. I am unable to attach to my page because of this.

Hello and thank you for your review. For this error there's usually a simple fix: either you have Klarna payments app in test mode, in which case please uncheck the test mode box in the payments app settings, save and test using the On-Site Messaging app again. The other option is that you have connected to the wrong endpoint in the On-Site Messaging settings. To check this disconnect and reconnect and make sure you choose the right endpoint (Europe/North America/Australia). Hope this helps! If you have further questions we are happy to support at merchant@klarna.com.

You used to be able to edit css of the element but for some reason it doesn't work with this app anymore.

If they make it so that you can add custom css to the element again I will change the review to 5 stars but for now its pretty bad

Funktioniert auch bei Deutschen Shops!! Alles ging schnell und Super, keine Probleme oder sonstiges. Positiv überrascht! Viele verschiede Layouts, für jeden Shop was da. Conversion Rate und generelles Vertrauen im Shop erheblich gestiegen. Würde ich jedem Shop-Inhaber auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Ein Muss!!

This app glitches alot. You have to discconnect and reconnect which is very annoying and now ive had to uninstall and reinstall as its not working anymore to see if the problem is solved.

App is not possible to install?
As soon as I download the app it says: Mid not found for the domain.
This is common for all my stores. Really weird. It says that I need to check that klarna is installed as a payment option, and it is!?

Your store has Klarna active within Shopify Payments, but also Klarna as a direct payment method partially integrated, which is interferring with your account connection in the on-site messaging. If you search for the direct Klarna payment method, and uninstall the "Klarna" app (and either wait 48 hours for the database data be auotmatically cleared or request support via skosm@klarna.com for manual clearing of the data).

https://docs.klarna.com/platform-solutions/shopify/ has additional info about these different integration methods, but our team at skosm@klarna.com is available to help with these steps to get this working well for you.

The app is easy enough to use, sometimes it doesn't pick the best placements automatically but you can change this quite easily. My one issue is changing the font that is displayed in the info-page placement. It looks like CSS is loaded externally and there's no way to force change it.

We recommend using App Block placements for this app (https://docs.klarna.com/platform-solutions/shopify/on-site-messaging-app-for-shopify/install-steps/#add-placements-online-store-20-app-blocks) for stores that have themes that support Shopify's Online Store 2.0 architecture. This enables merchants to specifically choose the desired location for each placement. Auto picking a CSS is an older, fallback option, but agreed that it can't always know the best location for any theme.

Regarding customizing placements, the on-site messaging product does offer CSS customization; more info at: https://docs.klarna.com/on-site-messaging/in-depth-knowledge/styling-on-site-messaging-with-css/ Hope this helps!

I am a new customer of Klarna, I have done the whole account process at Klarna in which it was approved. So far so good, but after installing the shopify application I received a notice inside the application that does not support the Online Store 2.0, how so? all the themes of shopify today are in this new version and you have no support? seriously that? what a technology delay... And now how do I install and use klarna? I sent a message to support yesterday and have not been answered yet either... They have already started badly in several aspects to be a company would be. The registration was very easy. However, there is no tutorial of how and where the Javascript code needs to go within Shopify Website Code. I read some documents but still not able to get the Klarna On-Site Messaging to show I have Klarna payments integrated. The only way I know I have this is right at checkout, which is the last step. Other than that, customers will not know about Klarna payment option.

I think this app is brilliant. Was slightly confused what to do first off. I contacted merchant support via phonecall, Rob my customer advisor/support was pure class. Excellent mannerisms, expert knowledge and help with I needed help to do. Cannot find a fault at all. Cannot mention to much how happy I am to have klarna setup on webpage/store totally opens new revenues to my business and I feel 100% comfortable that if any issues occur, that the expert help is there for me. Thank you so much klarna and especially Rob for helping me today. I Highly recommend this app to everyone.

Klarna is available for Ireland for Shopify as an alternative payment method, but not available as a local payment method within Shopify Payments for Ireland. I have used other BNPL apps in an other platforms and I understand the value of these apps and what they do. Most people tend to review the app itself which for me is still early days but I am extremely confident that the functionality of this app will work as intended. What I do want to review now is the service and support offered by Klarna. In my first experience, it has been absolutely outstanding, I raised a ticket for some help and within less than 10 minutes I had a real person respond to me ready to help. I requested help installing the app on my website and within several hours of the same day my app had been installed for me. Communication was great and the person helping was very polite and very professional, it was a great joy.

There is a config option (within the Settings menu in the app admin) for Ad Positions to be deactivated whenever the theme is switched (to avoid on-site messaging showing up in unexpected locations after a theme change). If that setting and reactivating the Ad Positions doesn't resolve the issue, likely the currently selected CSS element used for the Ad Position doesn't exist on the new theme. You can use the autopicker or drag and drop to update the Ad Position to a new CSS element that exists in the new theme.

Terrible customer service, I wanted to launch my shop on Saturday, I emailed on Friday as the on-site messaging is not working, my customers are unable to pay using Klarna. Four days later I have not received an email, the Shopify staff who are beyond helpful emailed on my behalf, they too have not had a response. How can they offer a service if they are not willing to help their customers? Absolutely shocking and disappointing to say the least.

UPDATE: Thank you for fixing a piece of my issue. My klarna info placement page still isn't working and I can't get banners on my homepage. Honestly, I don't understand what could possibly be wrong with my theme where it has to be manually updated. So basically, to update anything on my website klarna related, I have to contact support? Straightforward to use and helpful support team. Could do with a smaller square shaped placement for the homepage, as the ones currently available are too big.

Thank you for this review and feedback Tovi Sorga. Klarna's On-site messaging team has an enhancement on their roadmap (not for this month, but sometime this year) to provide homepage placements using autoxauto size, so that merchants will be able to place those placements in any containers and the size will adjust.

The app works "well" and it looks good on your product page.
The only problem is that it is only applicable to 1 product, so it shows the klarna message only on product A. If you add a new product (product B), it shows the klarna message only with product B. Is it possible to set this app for all products?

The app can and should display on-site messaging for any and all in-stock products with a price within your configured Klarna contract price range. The app pulls the product price from the page dynamically; the app code is not specific to individual products.

I see on-site messaging on multiple products on your store, but not all product pages. For the pages where it is not working, the KlarnaThemeGlobals app code in your theme.liquid isn't currently able to retrieve the product's price from your theme.
