Would be nice if they had instructions as to how to set it up. Got stuck on credentials.... what credentials were needed? I couldnt tell you.

From the Support Guide: When you first install the app, your Klarna API credentials will be automatically connected, as long as you have already completed the Klarna Payments for Shopify integration. The registration was very easy. However, there is no tutorial of how and where the Javascript code needs to go within Shopify Website Code. I read some documents but still not able to get the Klarna On-Site Messaging to show I have Klarna payments integrated. The only way I know I have this is right at checkout, which is the last step. Other than that, customers will not know about Klarna payment option.

Easy to install and use. A bit limited as to where you can place the ads. I am guessing because the app is new there will come more options eventually other than only the product page or cart.
However, there is still a big problem with Klarna as a payment service when using Shopify: ONLY customer that are from the same country as the Shopify store can actually use the Klarna payments. It's because they have to be using the same currency as the store.
So for example if someone from Norway tries to pay using Klarna in a Swedish Shopify store (that is using Swedish Krona as currency) they will not be able to complete the purchase, and instead get a message that "this payment option is not available" (without any further explanation why). This needs to be fixed.
Therefore this application is just confusing customers from other countries because Klarna actually doesn't work for them... Otherwise the app itself was nice and I'm excited to see more features! 4/5.
Alternative payment gateways, like the Klarna Payments gateways, are processed using a single currency: the store's base currency. While Klarna Payments can support many currencies, the Klarna order must be in the applicable currency for the customer's address. Great app.
Although it has 1 (local) minor issue: the currency symbol is shown after the slided price, which isn't the default location for our currency (€).
Is it possible to manually change this position? For example:
Current on-site message: Betaal in 3 delen van 43,00 €
Prefered on-site message: Betaal in 3 delen van € 43,00

Regarding you question if it is possible to manually change the messaging, that is not possible since we have chosen to align this on all of our European markets.
In most European countries the normal notation is to put the EUR sign after the price, I know that in the Netherlands this is done differently.
Therefore I will put in a request to see if this can be adjusted per market.
Why is Klarna not available for Shopify in the UK? Would this change anytime soon as I would really like to have on my store.

Klarna is still available on Shopify for UK (and all Klarna regions), but there is now an additional step to install the desired private payment method, documented at: https://docs.klarna.com/platform-solutions/shopify/payments/installing-klarna-payments-as-an-alternative-payment-method-on-shopify-hpsdk/#activate-your-klarna-alternative-payment-methods-private-payment-methods
It does what it says, allows placement of ads on product page, cart and home page. It doesn't allow a ton of customization around styling or configuring an explanation page.
The Klarna Merchant Portal now offers merchants the ability to customize the display options of their own On-Site Messaging placement, such as font size, link color, text alignment, border style, background color, and more. Customization made in the Klarna Merchant Portal will be updated on the storefront directly without any changes required in the Klarna On-Site Messaging app for Shopify (if the theme selected is the default theme). I used this app on other websites, won't attach to my own? Can't get past installation, video guide cuts off and I can't make it past screen #2 of installing. Thanks guys... too many bugs...

I was very excited about this app, but it doesn't work. I tried but is not a comfortable app. I believe when the developers update the app I will definitely try again. Shame such a big company but the app is not users friendly. You must do it better.

We are working hard to make this app compatible with as many storefront themes as possible and still offer merchants the ability to choose where the on-site messaging appears on their page. Since each store runs a unique set of code based on the theme and installed apps, the app won't be able to work for every store but it is working well for many. If you would like us to debug your specific store, please email skosm@klarna.com and we will request access to your store to review.
Another option, instead of using the app, is to add the required JavaScript to your store and directly update your theme to insert your on-site messaging placement as documented at: https://developers.klarna.com/resources/on-site-messaging
