On-Site Messaging is simple to integrate, and highlighting buy now and pay later options before checkout is proven to improve sales. The app provides customized messaging, ranging from banners promoting your partnership with Klarna and availability of payment options, to personalized promotions on product or cart pages.

Want to add On-site Messaging? First, our 3 simple steps below get you started with Klarna Payments and then you can install the On-site Messaging app.

STEP 1 | Sign up with Klarna

To get started, you’ll need to create a merchant account and sign up with Klarna at us.portal.klarna.com/signup.

STEP 2 | Get & save your Klarna API credentials

Generate new API credentials by going to Settings in the Merchant portal. Download and open the file; you'll need these API credentials in the next section.

STEP 3 | Install Klarna in your Shopify store

Go to the Klarna Payments setup wizard at klarnapayments.com/install# to guide you through the integration for Shopify.

Place a trial purchase to ensure everything is working correctly. Then head to the Klarna merchant portal to cancel (make sure you don’t pay yourself)!

Great way to surface to customers that they can break up their payments—especially impactful for our store since our products are on the premium and pricey side. The UI was a little clunky to use, but I figured it out after some tinkering. There are good customization options built-in.

I am DARKO

Terrible customer service, I wanted to launch my shop on Saturday, I emailed on Friday as the on-site messaging is not working, my customers are unable to pay using Klarna. Four days later I have not received an email, the Shopify staff who are beyond helpful emailed on my behalf, they too have not had a response. How can they offer a service if they are not willing to help their customers? Absolutely shocking and disappointing to say the least.
