Warning to Shopify Users About Langify
I want to share my experience so others don’t waste their time or money. Langify might look like a convenient translation app for Shopify, but in reality it caused nothing but problems for my store.

When you switch to another language, the page automatically jumps back to the original language.

The translations don’t stay applied, making the whole feature basically unusable.

It fails to translate properly, even after setup and troubleshooting.

They offer a very short free trial, which makes sense now — if people had more time to test it, they’d realise it doesn’t work as promised.

In my experience, it simply didn’t deliver what it advertises. I’m sharing this so other Shopify store owners don’t waste their time or money on something that doesn’t function reliably.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to correct this review.
You were in contact with our support team over a longer period of time. The issue concerned the use of machine translation and bulk translation, as well as the question of whether translation words that had already been used could be restored retrospectively.

The language in question was deleted directly in Shopify by the shop operator, i.e. you. When a language is deleted, Shopify's system removes all associated translations. In this case, translation credits that have already been used cannot be recredited, as they have already been processed and billed by the translation service. This was explained transparently by our support team.

A technical problem in which pages "revert to the original language" or translations are not saved was not reported as an error and does not correspond to how Langify works. Translations remain as long as the respective language is available in Shopify.

Nevertheless, in this case, we have already credited additional words as a gesture of goodwill and are continuing to strive to find a good solution for all parties.

Langify can be used permanently free of charge; costs only arise for optional features such as machine translation, bulk translation, or custom content. Our support team is always available to clearly explain such processes in advance.

Translated Policies with the app to German and French. For an app that praises it’s own legal accuracy, the mistakes are horrible. The justification that the app enables manual updating is not an argument. I speak several languages and am versed in international legal documents.
This is not an app i will use, translations can’t be trusted.

Btw, I had upgraded the basic option to the next level, thinking it might be increasing the professionalism.

Very disappointing. Very slow and now we have been translating from Spanish to English for 3 hours and my Spanish website is half in English. It is really frustrating and time consuming when a paid application has to work without compromising the work already done. I do not recommend it at all.

The application is useless – it’s extremely slow. Translating several thousand products in multiple language versions is practically impossible with it.

I purchased the app and added three languages, but despite this, the automatic translation does not start. There is no visible button to initiate the translation, and even after uninstalling and reinstalling the app, the issue persists. I have paid for the service, yet it is not functioning as expected. Very disappointed with this experience—it feels like a waste of money.

Slowest App I have ever seen on the app store. Sometimes takes 10-15 min for the page to load. Can definitely not recommend this app.

I am sorry, but this really is the worst app on the shopify market. Incredibly slow, but the worst thing ist the auto translate functionality. The app has translated our native language. Perfect texts were turned into shit. We had to manually update all texts again. No option to revert auto translated texts.

It's with deep sadness that I write this review having been a customer for many years.
Please don't install this app until the developer fixes this one major issue. You can not filter archived or draft products. Instead, you have to pay for words you are not going to use costing you $10,000's in our case.

Their non-existent timeline to fix this is infuriating and shows how little they care for their customers.

AVOID THIS APP.

"Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say this is not possible at the moment because a feature to filter products (and include/exclude them from the translations) according to their status is not currently available. Our developers are aware of this and they are already considering including this feature in a future update, but we don't have any approx release date for this at the moment."

I don't understand why it has so many positive reviews. This app does absolutely nothing to help with workload and adds more workload. Features are added, upgrades are done and your entire previous work is all of a sudden gone which one then has to redo. If I could, I would use another app and avoid this one as this is a whole bunch of manual work and then repeat again the manual work as they delete information that one previously uploaded. And then magically disappears. Oh, and it is never the app's fault if something doesn't work properly based on common sense but always the user's fault. Instead of fixing issues the customer service team is telling you workarounds. Seriously? If your customer service needs to provide a work-around there is a fault and not a user error.

Terrible customer support. The translations of our main market are down for 3 weeks due to a technical issue on Langify side. The customer service takes too long to respond to a critical topic that was even caused by an update on their side. We are losing business and they don't seem to even care about answering back after reporting the issue 4 times.
