We are stuck with this app since way back.
There are a few big problems with it.
1. For products, translation is malfunctioning. New product will get wrong info when translated (if duplicated from another product). To get around this, we have to make a new translation for all product and replace the old translations. Langshop know this problem, but they wont fix it, they dont care even though we have reported about it many times for 3 years now.
2. Some translations, for example single words that becomes two words in other languages when translated. This words Langshop cant handle together with Shopify. Langshop will add "space" in the translated domains which will make them not function, will give "error 404" page instead of correct page.
3. The free AI translate really is crap. It will make very bad translations, probably to force you to pay for other translations.
So BIG WARNING for this app. We are stucked with it and will take so much time and effort to change right now.
Hello, Docklandet team.
Thank you for the valuable feedback, and we are sorry to hear your experience with the app has been negative.
Please note that due to the fact LangShop stores translations in the Shopify API, the translations are duplicated as well, as a part of the product. There is no workaround for this, to our regret, and only newly created products won't have their translations stored in the back end.
To make your workflow more manageable you could set up automatic translations of new products with Shopify Flow, even if they were duplicated. For example, to start a translation if the product is changed from "Drafted" to "Active".
There are restrictions applied to the translation engines which prevent Shopify links from being translated on the storefront. If you are referring to URL handles, the redirection between locales and domains is handled by Shopify, so there should not be any 404 errors. We would be very glad if you provided examples of these broken links so that we can fix the errors if they are caused by LangShop and prevent them from happening in the future.
The free LangShop translation engine may indeed provide translations that are not up to everyone's standards, but this is why there are integrated advanced engines, such as OpenAI, Google Cloud and DeepL Pro. We'd like to remind LangShop does not benefit in any way or form from the use of these engines, since they use the API and the account of the user, not our own.
We would be very thankful if you gave LangShop another chance, and to our team — a chance to improve your user experience!
Best regards,
LangShop team
app won't work on third day straight - customer support said developers are on it but it's not fixed and no update has been provided
Hello, Lifted Clothing
We sincerely apologize for the negative experience you had with our app. We understand that resolving the issue with language redirect took longer than expected and we sincerely regret any inconvenience this has caused.
We take your feedback very seriously and would appreciate it if you could give us another chance. If you could please reinstall the app, we would be happy to look into the issue as soon as possible.
Best regards,
LangShop team
The number of glossary rules is too low for the most plans. You have to pay $500 a month to get unlimited
Hello, Dear Stoy!
Thank you for your feedback on Glossary feature!
We understand that glossary rules can be an important part of managing translations effectively and we are very sorry that the limit offered does not meet your needs completely.
Our support team is widely opened to review your current setup and suggest possible options to improve your glossary usage within the existing subscription.
Please feel free to reach out to us anytime — we’re always glad to help!
Best regards
LangShop Team
The switcher is not fit for any shop. It's ugly and not in line with a premium shop. The translation is literal. It must be done manual.
A lot of items not translated or partially translated.
Many translation failed and I had to do a lot of manual work.
Not to mention the support. It has been absolutely unsupportive. They keep giving me link to read, without sorting out any issue.
I am absolutely appalled how shopify doesn't run due diligence on the app they promotes.
Hello PurrEmbassy,
We're really sorry to hear about your negative experience.
We would like to clarify that by sharing the guide link we intended to provide step-by-step instructions on how to customize the switcher and use the Glossary rules feature, which can help fix translations that appeared to be inaccurate.
We’d love to find a solution that works for you, so we reached out to discuss the issues you mentioned. Please check your email and let us know your thoughts.
Best regards,
LangShop team
I have totally no idea why it has 4.6 points.
To everyone who is considering this app, I will NEVER recomend you to use it because you will get nothing except regrets.
1. It does not update automatically. When a copy on a certain place is updated, you need to go to Lang shop to translate or click "translate" to let the new translatio show up.
2. If a new product is published, the system is automatically copy copies of similar products, giving wrong information to customers.
3. If you want to export the data in batches, you can only choose 50 at one time, or click ONE by ONE which totally doesnt make sense at all. You cannot even just export all the products of one vendor. The system simply exports all products for you, even if you have already filtered something out. (The only way to export specific products is to click them one by one)
4. The Free API translator will give simplified Chinese on Traditional Chinese page. I asked the CS why, she told me because it is free, I cannot hope for quality. I think it is a totally wrong language and not the right time to even talk about quality. Sorry.
5. Last but not the least the CS is as disappointing as the app itself. Whenever we asked questions what we got is they will reflect to the developing team and get back to us by email. I started using this app for a few months and received "0" email replies.
6. I will want to rate "0" if this option exists.
Hi SOU・SOU netshop,
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and that our app has not met your expectations. We'd like to address each of your points to provide clarity:
1. Automatic updates
You’re correct that the app does not auto-translate updated content. At the moment, automatic translation can only be enabled for newly created products and collections. Any later edits must be triggered manually from the user side. We understand this may be inconvenient and are actively exploring improvements.
2. New products translation
Please let me clarify that new products are created in Shopify. If a new product is duplicated from an existing one and automatic translation is enabled for new products, Shopify sends us the duplicated information, and the translation is duplicated as well.
Since automatic translation runs only once (at the moment the new product is created) it’s best to create new products from scratch instead of duplicating and editing afterward.
3. Export
Currently it's not possible to select all products with a specific vendor, to our regret. We understand how this can be frustrating when working with larger catalogs and vendor-specific filtering.
Please rest assured that this feature request has already been passed to our development team and they will be reviewing possible options on how to make it possible from our side
4. Japanese to Traditional Chinese translation
We understand your concern about receiving Simplified Chinese on a Traditional Chinese page. Unfortunately, basic translation engines have significant limitations, including lack of support for several language combinations (for example, there is currently no support for translating Japanese → Traditional Chinese using the basic engine).
For merchants who require precise language variants, especially Traditional vs. Simplified Chinese, we recommend using a pro translation engine to ensure correct results.
5. Customer support experience
We sincerely apologize if our follow-up process fell short, this is not the experience we want to provide.
If you’re open to it, we’d really appreciate another chance to assist you directly.
We genuinely appreciate your detailed review. Even though your experience was not positive, your feedback helps us improve the app for all merchants. We take this feedback seriously and are continuously working on improvements based on user needs.
If you’re willing, please reach out again and we’ll be happy to look into your specific setup and help resolve the issues you encountered.
Best regards,
Langshop team
Very unhappy with this app right now for three reasons:
1) Many translations failed in the last 17 days (probably more but I do not see older tasks!!!) and I never noticed because the app does not let you know. User experience -1000. Our customer happines also -1000.
2) I have been using langshop for quite a while now and their auto-translate feature does not work with duplicates. Also something no one tells you.
3) Dynamic translations feature is slowing down the site quite a bit. And customers can see the "live" translation which makes your shop look like a dropshipping store.
Hi BINS AND BOXES,
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and truly understand your frustration.
We appreciate the chance to clarify a few points and help resolve the issues you’ve encountered.
1) The status of each translation (completed or failed) can be viewed in the History section of the app. In most cases with OpenAI translations, the failures may be related to insufficient OpenAI credits. We’ve reached out to confirm this, but haven’t heard back yet.
If credits aren’t the cause, our developers will gladly investigate further to resolve it from our side.
2) Auto-sync is designed to translate only newly added products and collections automatically. Duplicated products already contain copied information (including translations), so they are not re-translated automatically.
We understand this can be confusing, so in the app and support documentation it's mentioned that newly added items can be translated this way.
3) Many dynamic translation rules can impact loading speed since these translations are rendered directly on the storefront. To reduce this effect, we recommend using dynamic text mainly for third-party app or custom content, while translating Shopify-native content directly in the backend through other sections of the app.
We truly appreciate your patience and detailed feedback. It helps us improve the app and better support our users.
Please feel free to reach out to our support team again so we can continue looking into your case and make sure everything works as expected for you.
Best regards,
Langshop team
Not a good app at all !! Langshop create multiple redirections for each language.
After 1 month of using , i have got more than 13000 redirects and more than 6500 404 pages because of Langshop.
Langshop is not made for SEO ! Technically it works, but your site will have HUDGE problems in terms of SEO.
Hi there, Misciano
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback — we’re truly sorry to hear about your experience.
We’d like to clarify that LangShop itself does not manage redirects, URL structures, or SEO indexing. The app’s main purpose is to translate and localize text values that are stored in your Shopify store (such as product titles, descriptions, menus, and other translatable fields including SEO).
All redirections and URL behavior are handled by the Shopify platform itself and depend on its native multilingual and domain setup.
If your store generated redirects or 404 pages, it’s very likely related to Shopify’s language subfolder configuration or third-party SEO settings, not LangShop. We recommend reviewing your Shopify markets and domain settings, as incorrect configurations can cause duplicate URLs or broken links.
Our team will be happy to help you review LangShop setup and ensure everything is working smoothly from our end. Please reach out to us directly via in-app chat or email with additional details.
Best regards,
LangShop Team
The app is very bad for translations. Many many mistakes and they always will tell you that they are not in charge.
Same with their "Glossary" as a converting service. It doesn't work at all.
I wasted a whole year to tell them to fix the bad translations and all they do is to change the text manually.
They charge me extra with cumulative of hundreds dollars useless !!!
They do not agree to make any refund for no service they gave me.
Steer clear of this app, it’s pure danger!
Dea rלובן מור ,
We’re sorry to hear that you feel this way, but we would like to clarify several important points.
All translations in LangShop are performed by integrated translation engines — both standard and advanced — which we’ve explained multiple times in our conversations. The quality of translations fully depends on the chosen engine and the source text. Our support team has always communicated this respectfully and provided examples to help you achieve the best possible result.
Regarding the Glossary feature — it works correctly when used according to the provided instructions. Our agents have repeatedly explained and demonstrated how it functions, always in a polite and detailed manner. Unfortunately, you were not willing to cooperate or follow our guidance during these sessions, and some of your responses to our team were offensive, which we do not tolerate, but still continue to provide you with assistance.
As for billing — no extra charges were ever made beyond your active subscription. In fact, we offered you a considerable discount as a goodwill gesture and tried to find a fair resolution.
During our last correspondence, we once again assisted you with the app’s setup, but you chose not to continue the process. We’re still open to helping you and explaining every function step-by-step if you decide to cooperate constructively.
Please feel free to contact our support team again — we’ll be glad to assist you once more and ensure you get the best from LangShop.

Absolutely Terrible Service — Don’t Waste Your Time or Money!
This app has been a complete nightmare. We’ve been reporting a critical bug for over THREE MONTHS with ZERO resolution. Despite paying a premium price, the issue still persists and is wrecking our website, reputation, and sales. Support is utterly unresponsive and incompetent.
If you value your business at all, DO NOT download or use this app. Save yourself the frustration, lost revenue, and headache. This company clearly does not care about their customers or delivering a working product.
Avoid at all costs.
Hello welzo,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry you’ve been dealing with 500 Internal Server Error and understand how critical a fully functioning site is for your business.
We take every report very seriously and want to get this resolved for you as quickly as possible.
We’ve conducted a thorough review on our end and want to share our findings:
- We can confirm that Langshop operates strictly through Shopify’s public API and Theme App Extension - no hidden or undocumented methods are used.
- Our logs show that your Theme App Extension is currently disabled. When it’s off, Langshop can’t interact with your theme or trigger any changes that would lead to a server error.
- A 500 status code signifies an internal server issue within Shopify’s infrastructure. Since our requests conform to Shopify’s documented workflows, and consistently succeed in other stores, the root cause is almost certainly on Shopify’s side.
- Langshop operates strictly within the boundaries of the official Shopify API. We do not have access to or visibility into Shopify’s internal page rendering processes, nor do we possess tools that would allow us to diagnose such server-level issues independently.
With that information, we will continue collaborating directly with Shopify’s support team to ensure they have everything needed to diagnose and fix the server-side problem.
Thank you for your patience! We will keep you updated on our progress and appreciate the opportunity to set things right.
Best regards,
LangShop team
Used to be Great — Now Ruined by Greedy Pricing Changes
This app was easy to use and worked well — until they completely overhauled the pricing plans. The new plans are overpriced and offer less value. It’s frustrating to see a good app go down this path just to squeeze more money out of loyal users.
We were planning to expand by adding another country, but the new pricing made it a no-go. We've already started switching to an alternative that's free and powered by AI. Disappointing move by the developers.
Hello Productkeys-uk
Thank you for sharing your feedback and experience with LangShop. We're sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the recent changes to our pricing plans.
Please note that we did not automatically switch customers on the old plan to the new pricing. The pricing plans for your store remain unchanged.
We tried to contact you regarding the issue, but didn't receive a response.
Could you please check your emails? We would love to resolve this issue if you give us the opportunity.
Best regards,
Langshop team
