After using Loop Subscriptions across multiple stores, I can confidently say it's one of the most frustratingly stagnant platforms on the market. What started with potential has turned into a case study in missed opportunities and complete lack of innovation.

Zero Customization, One-Size-Fits-None

Loop sells the idea of being flexible and Shopify Plus-friendly, but in reality, it's rigid, bloated, and overly reliant on basic templates. The lack of front-end customization options makes it near impossible to create an experience that feels native to your brand. You want a modern flow? Forget it. You’ll be stuck wrestling with limitations that shouldn’t exist in 2025.

No Real Retention Tools – Just Wishful Thinking

While other platforms are actively building retention mechanics like personalized win-back flows, smart pause/skip incentives, or tailored reactivation offers, Loop is still pitching "skip a month" like it's a game-changer. There’s no strategic churn management, no dynamic rewards, no real ownership over how you keep your customers engaged. They give you a calendar and a prayer.

Painfully Behind the Curve

The e-commerce landscape is moving fast, and Loop just isn’t keeping up. Their competitors are miles ahead, offering advanced analytics, deep integrations, and retention-first thinking. Loop, meanwhile, acts like it’s 2021 – and even then, it would’ve been average at best.

If you’re running a serious DTC brand and care about owning your subscriber journey, Loop isn’t the tool. It’s an outdated, cookie-cutter solution in a space where innovation actually matters.

Indian support team not helpful and doesnt understand basic instructions

Absolute worst customer service we've ever experienced. Had some trouble with the manual installation and were told to "find a developer." WILD that a Shopify App thinks that the "only way to install a app is manually" when all the other ones we've looked at do it for you or it's automated. Don't waste your time...there are a lot of other, better, and helpful options.

They only support you if you get one of the paid plans. Each time I asked for help they asked me if I'm on free plan or not and then just stopped giving support. When I uninstalled the app the code remaining cause problems with my theme and they didn't help me to remove codes. Very poor customer service.

This app is a JOKE. There is NO customer service. They do not contact you ever. They just keep sending "schedule a call" emails but then push your call off over and over. And all call times are between midnight and 4am. I'm convinced that all reviews were entered by this company.

After this review and even before this review, we have tried reaching out to you to activate Subscriptions for your store but haven’t been able to do so.

You scheduled 3 calls with us for your subscription widget issue but didn’t join any of the calls. After every call, we sent an email asking you to reschedule the call and even followed-up with you. I have updated the timeline of events on the google doc below, we have shared the same sheet with you as well.

I am really not sure what we could have done differently so you wouldn't have felt disappointed with us.

If you do want to try us again, please feel free to respond to our emails and we will be happy to power subscriptions for you.

The product was not worth the price and the customer service was unsatisfactory. I experienced an issue and was advised to fix it on my own without much assistance or support from the customer service team. The app is also overpriced.

We are sorry to say that we can't give you access to our APIs in the free plan.

As far as the concern about our pricing, we received your feedback. For full transparency, we charge the lowest transaction fees in the Shopify app ecosystem amongst Shopify apps.

Our plans are suitably set for growth and Enterprise brands after getting feedback from the DTC community.
