I tested a number of blogs from shopify and found Megafan to be the best. After the initial installation I needed a few tweaks and Viktoriia and her team were extremely helpful in assisting me. The app itself is easy to use and integrates seamlessly with my website, maintain the look and feel. The blog editor is really powerful and has a lot of options where I can customise font, headings images etc. I can also customise blog categories and the sidebar recent posts and popular posts, there’s a whole lot more features available, so worth checking it out!!!

Mediocre UI but better than Shopify built in blog tools

Finding it very un user friendly, compared to Squarespace/ Wordpress.
Quite often I'm unable to add photos to a draft blog post, for no apparent reason. Sometimes it doesn't save a draft or removes the title/ details within. All very frustrating when you're short on time anyway and trying to create content.

After a lot of search, i conclude that Magefan blog is the best blogging tool in shopify's appstore. Its the most generous, full-featured, free and unlimited shopify blogging solution, with excellent seo features.

Also the customer support is really fast,professional and friendly. Viktoriia from the customer support quickly offered a solution for my question.

Incredibly helpful and responsive support. They actually listen to feedback and will implement improvements you recommend. Product functions as described.

I dock a star due to the lack of customization of post side navigation. Right now, it's just a list of category links similar to Wordpress default.

Overall, great app. I'm certain it'll only grow and get better the further along its development cycle it goes.

On the homepage, the blog module takes more than 5 seconds to load, which is extremely slow. I reached out to customer service for assistance, but they didn't even check if there were any code conflicts in the backend. Instead, they asked a bunch of questions and then said, "Oh, we will improve it," which was no help at all.

This is a really useful blog app which has loads of features and benefits you'd expect to be able to build a fully functioning blog area on your website - way better than the Shopify version.

We've gone from not ranking for any of our blogs, to getting organic traffic since we moved from our previous blog app.

The customer service and support is exceptional, any issue we've had or suggestion made has been taken on board to make the app even better.

Still a new app but the sidebar alone is better than all other blog apps and integration is easy. It can also create one way you could improve this amazing app would be to automatically change the uploaded blog featured image into 150x150 for featured list images, 450 x 450 for homepage recent post/ featured post to improve speed. The biggest problem is that all seo or other shopify app only work with the shopify integrated blog, thats why i can’t use yoast or tiny image optimizer. Or maybe you could integrate the magefan into shopify blog, so other plug ins would be compatible? I don’t know and thanks for your time to reading this :)

Magefan Blog is far superior to the stock shopify blog. The support has been excellent, I submitted some suggested functionality and they responded immediately and added that requested functionality.

We were already paying $7.99/mo for Custom Authors, this functionality comes built into magefan so it was a no-brainer for us to switch. Plus the ability to add categories for navigation is huge.

I do wish that blog posts showed up in searches. It should be included in the basic plan. An additional $20/month for this is too much.

I really like using Magefan and like working with the support team. Together we have worked through some issues transferring from Magento to Shopify - the support does does set them apart from other Shopify blog providers.
