I am not sure how it will work as it's a bit of a mystery. I had an import issue for an "Age Verification" field that was a required merge and their support put me through rigours that did not resolve the issue. The age verification field was a mandatory field and there was no alternative to map it to in the pop up field entries. I just mapped it to Customer Notes so it would merge my date between Shopify and Mailchimp but who knows if that can be changed later or fixed so it records proof of age properly - we sell alcohol so this is important!! I wish I could call and talk with someone but no such option exists so I am still riding blind and wondering if it will work at all - confidence is low right now.
Hi there, we saw your review and wanted to reach back out. We also replied to your support ticket that was posted for some of your other questions. With the situation you're describing in the review, you would need to contact Mailchimp if you're having any trouble getting that age verification merge tag put in. Once that's done, ShopSync's merge tag mapper can populate data in that field with no issue. If you want to fill in past data for any reason, you could initiate a force resync from the ShopSync app inside of Shopify.
Please let us know if you need additional support around the features in ShopSync, we're happy to help anytime.
this app wasn't working before but looks like they fixed the problem. so far so good! Great customer service!
After further investigation into this issue, we've found that the app store had an unusual redirect method to our installation page that needed to be corrected. This problem appeared for a small subset of users, but we understand how frustrating this behavior can be if you were one of them. We've worked with Shopify to resolve this problem and it should be fixed now. Would you care to update your review if you're able to connect and use ShopSync?
Installation and syncing was quick and easy, however, instructions weren't very clear on how to make sure everything from Mailchimp was working properly. Having read previous reviews of unwanted emails being re-sent to customers, so I took the following steps which seemed to eliminate all problems, I haven't encountered any other issue so far:
1) Sent out an email to my entire list with a notice of email update, letting them know to ignore any emails they may receive in the next few days.
2) Paused all current campaigns in Mailchimp and cleaned up my email list - I deleted all those who unsubscribed, just in case any unwanted emails are sent to them.
3) Install Shopsync
4) Check the queue in each of the paused campaigns. I found 10 people added to the onboarding queue who were previous subscribers and had already received the onboarding emails before.
5) I wasn't sure how to remove these people from the queue, so I duplicated my onboarding campaign and archived the old one. The new one had a refreshed queue so there were no unwanted subscribers in there.
6) Re-activated all my campaigns, including an abandoned cart email.
7) Deleted Mailchimp app in Shopify
8) Logged into Mailchimp > Account > Connected Sites and realised that the pop-up form and abandoned cart emails were not activated for some reason.
9) Manually clicked on "Add" next to each one. I had to make a new abandoned cart email in order to have it added to Shopsync, after which I archived the old one.
10) Tested my website in incognito mode and everything worked fine - pop-up form now showed up properly and abandoned cart email is running too.
P.S. I did get about 50 new contacts added to my list after syncing, most of them are paying customers, and they did not appear to be duplicates, so I'm still baffled why they weren't on the list before.
After uninstalling and installing it works right. First time i got installed sync does,'t work, after that it works as i Expected
Thanks for your review and feedback. We've reached out to your via email regarding this matter. In general the way the Sync works we sync customers, orders, and products from Shopify to Mailchimp as transactions and signups occur. All signups made directly to the MailChimp list either via .csv import or signup on a form on another site will only be listed in MailChimp and will not be synced to Shopify.
I'm getting started slowly but find it easy to navigate. I recognize the possibilities are endless. I look forward to growing and improving my business with Mailchimp. Thank you!
So far, it's pretty good. However I had to manually type my contacts from Shopify to export it to Mailchimp. So that could have been easier.
Hey Beatta! We'd like to get more details on this to see where we can improve. Email mc-ecommappsupport@intuit.com with additional information and they'll follow up.
Was easy to set up and works great!
Only have abandoned cart automations which seems to be working.
No problems so far.
Thanks for being free :)
2000 free subscribers now down to 500. You're now charging more then $40 CAN for what used to be a free service. How are small businesses suppose to survive?
The initial sync went really well. My contacts, products and transactions all connected successfully, which was a huge relief. Later I got stuck on syncing my tags from Shopify to Mailchimp. So far I've been working on it for a few hours and the Shopify tags still aren't showing up in MailChimp. I only have ~ 200 customers and maybe five tags so I wasn't expecting this to be so frustrating. Now MailChimp is running in slow motion and its very confusing whether sync is causing this or something else? When you select the tags in Shopify to sync to Mailchimp, there is no "save" button or "sync" indicator to show its working. Overall, I love Shopify and Mailchimp. Amazing, incredibly powerful products. But this tag sync issue has me stumped and I'm spending too much time trying to figure it out.
I had to uninstall this app because the code was affecting my theme, After months of some customers not being able to view my site correctly on mobile and contacting everyone under the sun for help, I finally uninstalled each app one by one on my website, getting my customers to test the site each time. all problems cleared up once shopSync was uninstalled and my site has been fine ever since. It's a shame since I really liked ShopSync and can't afford something like klavio
Hi Pea Shoots, we saw your review and wanted to reach out. We checked into our helpdesk and only saw one ticket back in August we replied to the same day regarding another question. Were you contacting Mailchimp for help? Or ShopSync? We want to make sure something didn't get caught up in our SPAM filter.
Regardless, we looked at your store, and it appears that the legacy Mailchimp app and ShopSync are still installed. The old Mailchimp integration has been deprecated (not supported) for quite some time, and there's a good chance things won't work as expected if you have both ShopSync and the legacy Mailchimp app running.
As for ShopSync affecting your theme, that would not be a function of the app. We'd recommend first to uninstall the legacy Mailchimp app and ShopSync. Next, verify in the Mailchimp "Connected Sites" area that your store is removed. Lastly, install ShopSync again. We're confident that things will work as expected after those steps are completed.
