really cool my audience on mailchimp grow every day and sales too :) i can take easyly care of my new subscribers in shopify on mailchimp soooocoooll
Works as advertised. Great solution for all Mailchimp users who are having a problem with Mailchimp's decision to abandon its Shopify app.
None of my automations are running and they were no help. They told me to contact Mailchimp but if your app is meant to be the middleman between Shopify and Mailchimp you should be able to do better than that. I am definitely not the only one.
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. Our app does not automatically attach to existing Mailchimp automations; we don't advertise that feature. Technically there isn't an option available for us to do so via Mailchimp platform or API. We would love to do an automatic migration if it were somehow feasible.
With that said, before installing ShopSync, we recommend that folks run the migration tool that Mailchimp has put out in their Knowledge Base. It's your best option to get things re-attached and running again: https://mailchimp.com/help/switch-shopify-shopsync/
If for any reason you did complete the migration, and the automations still aren't firing, you'll definitely want to reach out to Mailchimp to see if there's something under the hood that they can update. We're sorry for any hassle, but again we don't have any control over re-attaching Mailchimp automations.
so far since the breakup between mailchimp and shopify this app has been the best sidechick ever! Very pleased so far.
I thought my installation was done with Mailchimp since Mailchimp dissapeared from Shopify, but I just click on the ShopSync app and shows it is not connected. A message with "Temporary Installation Cookie Must Be Set
Your browser is preventing the installation of ShopSync. A temporary cookie must be set by clicking here." comes up, but after clicking and refreshing nothing happens and the app still does not work. Please help
UPDATE: The problem was solved and it was indeed related to the browser. Thank you!
Hi Stona, thank you for the feedback. We saw your review and it sounds like your issue may be related to a browser caching issue or just a temporary problem with Shopify's app store. We'd suggest clearing your cookies/cache or trying another browser entirely.
If the problem persists, don't hesitate to contact us for further troubleshooting at support@shopsync.io.
Very easy to implement, which I appreciate. But. It doubled all my tracked revenue in MailChimp, so that it appears people have bought twice as much. Not a deal breaker, but definitely a bug that should be fixed!
update - I finally got around to doing what ya'll said - and it seems to be great now, thanks so much!
Hi there, thank you for your feedback. Do you still have the legacy 'Mailchimp for Shopify' app installed? If so, you'll want to remove that as soon as possible. After doing so, that should remove any duplicate data.
I used ShopSync to integrate Mailchimp with Shopify and it synced between the 2 platforms quickly and easily!
Shortly after we set up this integration for a test store we started receiving complaints from our customers that their emails were getting spam. These were people who set up aliases at their own domains like companyname@mydomain.net, so it was plain who was compromising their emails. We went through several internal audits trying to figure out where these emails were being exposed but found nothing until a new developer came along and asked about a weird web hook installed on our mailchimp account that posted user data to app.shopsync.io. shopsync.io is a dead domain but the app subdomain does return a 200/OK when you hit it. We removed the app from Shopify and that removal deleted the web hook from Mailchimp. We haven't received any customer complaints for accounts created since we removed this integration.
Hi System76, we appreciate the feedback. We're trying to get our heads around how the app was sending spam to your customers as described. The integration between Mailchimp and Shopify syncs data from your store to a Mailchimp Audience; we don't send any emails on your behalf. The domain "shopsync" is a company we acquired last year, whose technologies are still the fundamentals around the app. We'd welcome further dialogue about this matter by contacting us via support.
After the original MC for Shopify app was retired, I got a recommendation from the MC support to install ShopSync.
The Installation process was easy and to the point, and the app itself seems better designed than the original app.
I haven't had a sale since installation yet, but All previous data have been imported to MC.
