The initial sync went really well. My contacts, products and transactions all connected successfully, which was a huge relief. Later I got stuck on syncing my tags from Shopify to Mailchimp. So far I've been working on it for a few hours and the Shopify tags still aren't showing up in MailChimp. I only have ~ 200 customers and maybe five tags so I wasn't expecting this to be so frustrating. Now MailChimp is running in slow motion and its very confusing whether sync is causing this or something else? When you select the tags in Shopify to sync to Mailchimp, there is no "save" button or "sync" indicator to show its working. Overall, I love Shopify and Mailchimp. Amazing, incredibly powerful products. But this tag sync issue has me stumped and I'm spending too much time trying to figure it out.
Unsubscribed shopify customers are synced to mailchimp when setting up the connection between shopify and mailchimp. This is unnacceptable because of data privacy reasons, unnecessary workload reasons (deleting them) and financial reasons. It could and may exceed the max. amount of recipients of your current mailchimp plan. Keep this in mind when using the new app.
Hi there, thank you for your patience while we researched your comments. Before any data is processed by the integration, we perform integrity checks with Mailchimp to ensure these customers can be sent to the Audience that is connected.
For example, if someone has opted out of an Audience in the past, we won't add the email again. We'll also update Shopify with the correct status that Mailchimp shows. That way, the most current subscriber status in Mailchimp is synced with the store.
Lastly, after the initial sync is complete, we'll add customers that visit your store who are deemed transactional as well. That way, you can use Mailchimp's automations to trigger abandoned carts and order notifications. If you do not want these customers in your Audience, you could archive these periodically. Here's a link on how to archive inactive contacts https://mailchimp.com/help/remove-inactive-contacts/ and here’s an article on archiving and unarchiving your contacts: https://mailchimp.com/help/archive-unarchive-contacts/
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our customer service team for more information, we are happy to help!
One MAJOR issue: If one of your subscribed contacts makes a purchase and does not click the box to opt in for email marketing (and why would they, they're already subscribed?) then they get UNSUBSCRIBED from your list. Not acceptable. This is the only app I can find to sync/track revenue generation from my emails so I'd really like to use it, I'd even pay for it. OneSass makes an app that syncs my contacts without the whole unsubscribe fiasco, but they don't sync revenue data. ShopSync - PLEASE PLEASE fix this and you'll have my business. Tell me if/when you do!
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. We wanted to let you know that this behavior was patched on 10/12/20: https://shopsync.io/changelog.
Here is more information about it in our support area on how we handle those situations: https://support.shopsync.io/using-shopsync/syncing-information#subscribers-added-to-a-mailchimp-audience-prior-to-checking-out-in-your-shopify-store
If you're still having challenges with this after the update, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@shopsync.io.
Need to be able to add a collection and not just individual products
Hey there! We can have our team work through potential options with you. Email mc-ecommappsupport@intuit.com and they will follow up.
I have 1600 subscribers in my list, so my Mailchimp is free. Once i added the integration, Mailchimp wants to charge me, even though my audience is less than 2000 subscribers. So I get an error that makes no sense. I have not gotten any value out of this, other than being able to add the products to the email campaigns, but they honestly look crappy and the product image does not import linked to the product, so i have to copy the link from the button. At this point i could have just done it myself. Waste of time. and now I have to pay $60+ to send an email that was free before... i just hope i m not also getting charged for the app
Thank you for providing these details! We can connect you to our Support team so they can see what might be going on. Email mc-ecommappsupport@intuit.com and they'll follow up with more details.
Followed instructions from Mailchimp. Installation and syncing was a breeze but unfortunately, we are unable to disconnect Mailchimp from Shopify. Can't seem to find the Disconnect button. Can someone please advise? OR can we simply delete Mailchimp app from Shopify?
Hi there, we saw your review and wanted to reply right away. This wouldn't be a function or feature of the ShopSync app. You can follow how to remove the legacy app here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/apps/working-with-apps
I used this app to enable me to measure results of traffic moving between our newsletter and our Hamper Warehouse Shopify page. I can see clearly the interaction between the 2. The install process was quick and easy.
There's only one day left before the MailChimp/Shopify integration ends and there's a huge notice when installing this app:
"Important! Please archive any Mailchimp welcome e-mail automation before installing ShopSync
If you have welcome e-mail automations running in Mailchimp, please archive (not pause) before installing ShopSync. There have been reports that emails have been resent after performing sync, and we are actively investigating the issue. Other automations are not impacted and can be migrated as noted in Mailchimp's knowledge base article."
Seriously, who is stupid enough to move forward after reading this?
And reading how ShopSync is replying to other people, seems like a huge loophole where ShopSync & MailChimp will not take ownership of any issues, truly try to help their users, but instead play the "blame game" and refer to the other party over and over.
Removing this app right away...
Hi there, Eidon thank you for your candid feedback. We've confirmed the welcome email behavior is a bug on the Mailchimp side, and their support team is investigating. It's got something to do with timestamps misbehaving internally. To be clear, this is not something that ShopSync is doing but we felt the urgency to make it transparent so our users don't have any surprises. For now, if you have welcome automations running, we recommend that you archive them before activating our app. You can easily reactivate or recreate them after the sync is done and restart.
All that to say, we hope that things will be resolved soon, but we don't have any visibility into their workloads. Other automations are ok to leave as described in the migration guide Mailchimp has published.
Let us know if you have any follow up questions. Feel free to reach back out to us at support@shopsync.io.
Works well. Follow Blissful Maternity's instructions and you'll be fine. (sort by most helpful reviews)
Thanks to Shopsync support also. They emailed me back promptly with one question I had regarding the process.
Acabo de sincronizarla con mi tienda online así que no se como me va a funcionar, lo que echo mucho de menos es que no esté en español, tengo que estar todo el tiempo utilizando el traductor y es muy incómodo.
