I recently tried out the Shopify app "Shopify Marketplace Connect" to facilitate the upload of my Shopify products to Amazon.in.

Unfortunately, my experience with the app has been quite disappointing, primarily due to two key issues. I encountered significant challenges with the customer support provided by Shopify Marketplace Connect. Specifically, I needed GTIN approval as per the app's requirements.

However, I already possessed brand and category approval under Toys & Games on Amazon. In this situation, Amazon offers a straightforward solution by allowing the creation of an ASIN through the "we don't have product id" option. This contrasts starkly with SMC's insistence on GTIN approval. As a user, I anticipated a more adaptable approach that aligns with Amazon's existing systems and approvals. The lack of flexibility in this regard greatly hindered my experience. Furthermore, the app exhibited issues related to image quality and capture.

One of the app's intended purposes is to simplify the process of uploading Shopify products to Amazon.in. However, I found the app to be needlessly complex and difficult to use. I believe that its functionality should be more intuitive and user-friendly. Furthermore, I found it easier to utilize bulk upload via Excel to transfer products from Shopify to Amazon.in. This ease of use in the manual method contrasts sharply with the cumbersome nature of the app.

Taking into consideration the poor customer support, limited flexibility, image quality concerns, and overall difficulty of use, I have decided to uninstall the "Shopify Marketplace Connect" app. For those seeking a seamless and efficient means of uploading their Shopify products to Amazon.in, this app proves to be time-consuming, inefficient, and, in my experience, a waste of money. I do not recommend its use, especially if your goal is to simplify the cross-platform product uploading process.

Overall, my experience with "Shopify Marketplace Connect" has been far from satisfactory. I hope that future updates address these issues, making the app more user-centric and aligned with the needs and systems of online marketplaces like Amazon.in. Until then, I will be seeking alternative methods to achieve my product uploading goals.

Amazon provides no access via API for us to know that Brand registry/GTIN exemption has been granted for the categories/brands you have applied for.
Without this requirement non qualified merchants would look for a way around potentially listing thousands of items against Amazon regulations. Our aim is to protect our merchants and their brands.

This app needs a mandatory tutorial video before using.
I downloaded this thinking it was an actual Shopify app, not Codisto. It ruined my Etsy storefront completely. When I enabled the products in the app it created new listings on Esty and cost me SO MUCH MONEY. I currently haven't been able to log into this app to make changes for TWO DAYS. This is absolutely unacceptable.

0 not option: Walmart integration broken, support useless The core of this product is to sync inventory/orders, well it cant do that for their Walmart integration. It does not work. You will not find information anywhere about this major issue unless you install the app, spend 2 days configuring and then open a ticket. Then they tell you, yea thats broken... Any reputable company/product would be responsible and notify users/customers there is an issue. How this app got so many 5 star reviews is amazing, seems suspicious.

I encountered several issues that have been languishing that all users of this app need to know about. Let's start with the complete falsehood in this August 2023 video announcing this app - https://youtu.be/Cb7z3jGUUZY. This app is not 'real-time' as mentioned in the video. It has an internal scheduled push/pull data mechanism, which can leave your FBM fulfilled orders as 'late shipped' due to data not being sent back to Amazon on time.

Reported and unresolved issues with the Amazon connection
1 - Using MCF fulfillment requires you to import all orders (FBA and FBM). This is an issue as the FBA orders imported into Shopify are unnecessary, but the feature is mutually exclusive. If you enable the Only FBM orders are imported option, the MCF is disabled.

2 - MCF orders require manually requesting fulfillment. You have been forewarned that there is no automation for this process within the app (but you may be able to automate it with an additional app, that I do not know.)

3 - MCF orders fail to pass to Amazon for fulfillment and products assigned to MCF inventory fail to show in the MCF enrolment page. Perhaps these two issues are linked, but I have not heard back from Shopify support yet.

Reported issues with the Walmart connection
1 - Upon migrating from the Walmart Connection that is slated for removal on 10/1/2023, you encounter duplicate orders pulled from Walmart, even though they are completed and shipped. I was able to catch these in time to stop a second fulfillment, but it was a hassle. You have been forewarned.

2 - All Walmart orders are loaded without the customer-selected shipping option, only 'DELIVERY' is in the shipping option. So, if you offer Expedited shipping options on Walmart, you may want to map 'DELIVERY' to an expedited shipping level (which means all standard shipping goes out 'Expedited'). Again, I have reported this to Support, but no solution yet.

I was a user of the Amazon by Codisto app previously and these issues did not exist in that app, which was a surprise to me when I encountered these regressions in functionality and failure of support to effect resolutions.

I suggest you use this app at your own risk. If Akshay Patil at Shopify wants to connect, email me and I can provide additional details for him to assist his team in resolving these issues and make this app all he claims it is in the video linked above.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS APP!!! READ BEFOR INSTALLING!!!
we installed the app and since the very first second we had issues, with it, doesn't sync orders, wont match listings, even when listings on eBay and Shopify are identical. talked with support 7 DAYS STRAIGHT according to them our case was HIGH PRIORITY and never gave an answer didn't show up for scheduled follow ups. our company manages thousands of orders and listings, we lost so much money because of this people, this is what you get with shopify, expensive apps, zero results and the worst support. make yourself a favor and use any other thing besides this.

Unable to cancel the app. Causing issues with my Amazon inventory. Does strange things and does not update quantities. Inventory is in tatters now.
Additionally, the developers at the Codisto LINQ accessed our Amazon account after we had finally managed to delete the app so please ensure you Revoke Access on Amazon permissions once after the App is deleted.

Thank you for leaving a review. We're sorry you experienced issues with the app. However, the app can always be cancelled and uninstalled and the problems you were facing with inventory would have been explained if you had contacted us via support prior to uninstalling. As you can see from the other reviews, many businesses rely on Codisto for catalog, price, inventory and order sync with Amazon/eBay all over the world.

Support is useless, this app wont even let you pick a subscription. We are trying to give Codisto money and they dont seem to want it.

i am trying the App in 3 different shops for Amazon, Ebay and Google.
Never i spent such a lot of time try to eliminate Errors. The Support very friendly and helpful, but the rest is a disaster
