We’ve replaced several apps with just this one!
I've used Mechanic for about a year now. Their huge library of pre-built tasks made it easy to get started auto-tagging customers or orders, scheduling product publishing, sending notifications for big orders. Setup was easy.
When I needed something custom (a complex order hold and release workflow), I was easily able to learn enough Liquid to modify an existing task to achieve what I wanted. The documentation is good, and their Slack community is also super helpful.
If you've ever thought "I wish Shopify could just do X automatically," this is probably your answer.

Mechanic has been an essential tool for our shop.

We’ve used it to build and manage systems that go beyond Shopify’s native functionality, including pre-ordering, a rewards points program, a referral system, and a raffle system tied to real customer activity.

What stands out most is how flexible and reliable it is. Once a task is set up, it just works, and it gives us confidence that important automations are running exactly as intended. The support team has also been responsive and helpful whenever we’ve had questions or needed approval for specific functionality.

Mechanic has played a huge role in helping us shape our shop into what we envisioned. Highly recommended.
