MIDA's app embed injects "Fraud IP Blocker" text into the `` of every page. SEO crawlers read it as the meta description, replacing my carefully written product descriptions across 999 products. Google indexed "Fraud IP Blocker" as the snippet for my products in search results for an entire month.

The result: a significant and measurable drop in click-through rates and sales that I can only attribute to this bug, which was silently introduced by one of their updates — no warning, no notification.

I spent hours investigating before identifying MIDA as the cause. This is not a configuration issue — it is a serious bug in their code that is actively damaging merchants' businesses right now.

This app has truly been a game-changer for my online store. It allows me to block spam and also specific IP addresses in case of bots or suspicious IP addresses. Does what you want, blocks the malicious bots & scammers! Responsive to questions & concerns. Shame Shopify still registers the blocked bot as a session though - Shopify needs to fix this!

I find it extremely useful to understand the breakdown of visitors to our website. Many visitors are really bots scanning our products for who knows what purpose.
With the MIDA app these, and other suspicious visitors, can be blocked or redirected.

Installée il y a deux semaines pour filtrer un trafic bot venu d'Amérique latine. La mise en place de la règle de blocage par pays est simple et rapide, et je n'ai constaté aucun blocage de vrais clients jusqu'ici — bon point. En revanche, sur mon offre Shopify, le blocage se fait seulement au niveau de la page : les bots atteignent quand même le site, donc le problème de fond reste entier. Shopify filtre déjà ce trafic de son côté, du coup l'app fait un peu doublon. Outil honnête et propre, mais à ne pas confondre avec un vrai pare-feu anti-bot. Je réévaluerai après quelques semaines de recul.
