Application is very useful for my business. I don't really have the time to set up and negotiate rates as a sole proprietor in a busy line of work. Netparcel takes the guess work out of rates and allows me to bill my customers at a fair and competitive rate.
Very good app. Began using it when Canada Post threatened to go on strike. Works well. Some small, minor glitches but this app really saved us when we couldn't ship with Canada Post. We have continued to use it post strike as it gives us additional options for shipping for our customers at great rates, rates we'd never be able to get on our own without netParcel. Customer service is very good, got back to me quickly. Looking forward to seeing how they continue to develop this app. Will definitely continue to use.
I really do love this app. Quick and easy to use, and they beat my negotiated UPS rates. I didn't give it 5 stars, because I need to use their website, to produce postage. There may be a way to have it integrated into my store, but I believe I'd need to either have the $300/month plan, or pay $20 ala-carte.
I'll probably end up doing that....as $20 is saved, in no time.
Oh, and by the way, I'm a USA shipper.

Well, after a month of shipping, here's what I can tell you.
The rate quoted, will not be the rate you pay, 90% of the time.
I'm so sick of these surcharges.
$3.85 for residential delivery
$1 for fuel
$3.25 for Extended Area surcharge
These additional fees are never quoted, until you get your bill.
Fedex does this, and UPS does this. In my book, it's "bait and switch".
The post office doesn't back-load these fees, so these guys don't need to either....but they do.
So, until Fedex and UPS drop these extra fees, I'll stick with USPS, where I can see what I get.
Oh, by the way, when you purchase postage via Amazon, and you select UPS or Fedex, what you see, is what you pay. Amazon demanded that there be no extra surcharges, when they negotiated their contract with Fedex/UPS.
I'll leave my star rating at 4, because I think netParcel is simply a vendor for Fedex, so it's probably not their fault.
So far so great!! Huge savings and excellent customer service. They helped me set up my account and start using their service immediately after downloading the app. Savings are instant and it’s super easy.
Very easy use, My shipping cost has lowered by 70% and customer service was excellent! Cheaper then going directly to some of the shipping sites.
I have been using netParcel once a day or so for the last week, I like the lower rates that I get from DHL to Europe.
Their customer service is great, fast and quality service.
I hope they can soon connect the app to Etsy platform that would be awesome.
keep on growing
Just started using netParcel and am pretty happy with how easy it is to use. Integrates well with Shopify! Use Canada Post but with the impeding strike, looking for an alternative. Works great!
Started using netParcel for wholesale shipping as rates were better than I could negotiate myself. Definitely recommend!
SECOND UPDATE - we had been using this plug in for months with spotty success. We weren't paying for this app, it is free with the expectation that you use them for your shipping provider. After our last round of issues, everything was working ok and we were in talks to move all of our online shipping for the US and Canada to netParcel. Over the Labor Day holiday weekend, the plug in stopped working and we were not notified by netParcel at all. Big weekend for our sales and we couldn't fill a single order. Once again, their customer/technical support person, Suhayl, was rude and unhelpful not only to me but also to our Director of Outdoor. We have been trying to get set up with them to do ALL of our shipping in the US and Canada for our online orders but the level of customer service and treatment of us as potential business partner has led us to delete the app and move our business elsewhere.
UPDATE to my first review of this app - they have gone above and beyond to fix our technical issues with our store and their app. We hope to be able to fix the last issue we are having (displaying transit estimates but they don't have control of that, it's the API) so that we can keep them as our shipping app.
We have had nothing but issues with their plug in not showing rates for our customers. First they told us it was a server problem on their end, that it would be fixed the next day. That they would send us a report of all the people that didn't receive rates. And we heard nothing and we're still having this problem. Now it's Shopify's fault and nothing they can do. Their customer service and technical support has completely blown us off after countless phone calls and unanswered emails to their support address. This has cost us numerous sales in the short time that we've had our site integrated with their service and I would NOT recommend using them for your store.
My customers do a lot of custom work and typically need stock at the last minute. It is a great feature for customers to be able to see real-time quotes and choose their shipping carrier of choice. For me, I love the ability to import an order saving time in generating a shipping label. One thing I would see as a nice feature would be to allow customers to also choose options like signature required and residential as these can (for some carriers) increase the cost at the time that the label is generated and not accounted for when the customer receives a quote.
It's easy to import orders from Shopify, although it's only one at a time. It would be nice to see an option to import the entire order list and avoid the toggle back and forth while shipping. Shipping rates are competitive, particularly as you get into more expedited services.
