Numeral Sales Tax

Numeral team is on top of it. We've had all sorts of challenges over the years and they've been very helpful. We worked with Avalara before and they were a nightmare, insanely expensive and had zero customer service. They had no one to answer the phones, and constantly tried to use AI bots to facilitate tax questions. Numeral is 1,000x better, and it's easy to connect with real people who can help in case of issues. I highly recommend.

The Numeral team has done a good job of onboarding our account after transitioning from Avalara. As with other commenters, filing with the various states is not an easy task. Do not expect perfection; there are always a few issues. But the customer service team has been faster and faster with their responses. The overall Numeral team has been efficient in filing all of my required returns.

I would say that the platform is still evolving and has a way to go with respect to reporting; the available reports are pretty basic which is why I'm giving them a 4 instead of a 5.

Taylor helped my company navigate and register for the new California Covered Battery‑Embedded (CBE) Waste Recycling Fee. This was not a service Numeral was currently providing, but Taylor worked with his internal team to make it happen. He was responsive and kept me posted throughout the process. We are very grateful for Taylor's help and support and that Numeral can take this task off our plate!

Numeral has good customer service and I think it's very important in such a complex arena that all Numeral customers are not interested in figuring out. They get done what they say they'll do and if there's a glitch they'll fix it and follow up. Their interface is simple. I'd recommend them if someone asked.

He kept us updated, clearly explained what happened, and made sure all balances and penalties were fully taken care of. Numeral streamlines the daunting process that is sales tax. With filings in several states at a high volume, the ease of Numeral's approach takes a load off of our company. When notices arise, they let us know and handle on the back end until resolved.

Numeral is, for us, by no means a hands-off service. We're responsible for all filings and that means spending time on approvals, checking up, and share any letters from tax authorities. So, it's still a bit time consuming.
Numeral is a good alternative when you're trying to decide between hiring a full-time sales tax employee or paying a full-service company lots of money.
